TexAgs Spring Tour: Richland and Lewisville
I made two stops today, the first was to see Texas A&M linebacker target DaShaun White and his Richland High teammates, and the second was to Lewisville High to check out the Fightin' Farmers and newly named head coach Michael Odle.White was working out with his basketball teammates. He is a two-sport athlete and head coach Ged Kates lets the football guys go workout with basketball on Thursday's during offseason. I did not get to see him do football drills, but I did get to see him move and change direction and even throw up a jumper from outside. It is safe to say he's an explosive athlete, and the Aggies have made a strong impression on him.https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/855095874522894338One of the big reasons the Aggies are in a good spot in his recruiting is the relationship he has developed with coach Price and coach Chavis. When they talk it is not all about football. In fact when I interviewed White today it was clear there was some BBQ talk going on.White has the Aggies high on his list and he mentioned UCLA, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Texas (no offer), and Oklahoma (no offer), as school up there too. He just returned from a visit to Oklahoma State and next up is a trip to Arkansas April 29. He does not have anything else scheduled right now, but he would like to visit Ole Miss this summer. He is also at a point where he feels he can finally start researching his schools, and he hopes to reach a decision in the next two or three months. ******White was not the only one in the basketball gym. In fact several of Richland's top underclassmen were in there with him. 2019 wide receiver Rashee Rice (6-2, 170, 4.48) recorded 550 yards and 10 TDs on 28 receptions on his way to second-team all-district honors last year. He has a 30-inch vertical and is a playmaking threat on the field. 2019 cornerback Ja'Cory Ashley (6-2, 170) is long and lean and as a sophomore he earned district defensive newcomer of the year honors. Ashley has also high jumped 6-2 this spring.http://www.hudl.com/video/3/7378652/57c222c1eae10c110c3cc304Another 2018 prospect in the gym today is wide receiver Kenneth Reeves (6-3, 185). If you are thinking the name sounds familiar it is because it is. Reeves is the son of former Texas A&M and NFL offensive lineman Ken Reeves. As a junior he recorded 14 receptions for 210 yards and three scores.******Richland also has another linebacker. White has gotten much of the publicity but 2018 Larry Nixon (6-2, 205) has plenty of ability on his own, and already holds a scholarship offer from North Texas. Offensive lineman Parker Shinsky (6-4, 315) is also drawing some attention right now with Tulsa showing the most interest.********Out in Lewisville, coach Odle has hit the ground running full speed ahead. Linebackers Emmanuel Adesina (6-1, 205) and Emmanuel Adebayo (6-1, 190) are athletic and could play multiple positions at Lewisville. Adesina is working a lot at defensive end and Adebayo is getting work at safety. Both run in the 4.55 range and bench and clean 275 pounds apiece and squat 425. These guys may not be Texas A&M targets but they are guys the Lewisville staff is high on. In the 2019 class safety Kevin Anderson (5-11, 180) is a guy to put on Texas A&M's radar. The recruiting process is just getting started Anderson, who earned second-team all-district as a sophomore, but do not be surprised if things pick up for him this spring and summer.http://www.hudl.com/video/3/6388387/57e86d3ef61708a4e86b095b

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
