Notes, quotes, tweets, and other Sunday recruiting stuff
I caught up with NaNa Osafo-Mensah today. He is currently in basketball and does not have any visit plans coming up. He named a top 10, but put Michigan in there now. All of them have elite football programs and big time business schools. Earlier this week I said I was hearing Notre Dame and LSU were A&M's biggest competition, and those remain the two other programs I hear the most regarding the Nolan Catholic standout. As for the Aggies, below is what he had to say. "I just love the culture down there and the tradition because A&M is just that special place down in College Station." He will announce his decision on May 19 at Nolan Catholic's spring game. *********Lancaster 2021 WR Majik Rector was in College Station recently and Liucci mentioned him as a prospect who has really caught the coaches eye. Well, know that he definitely has his eye on the Aggies too. The biggest competition at this early point seems to be Oklahoma and Texas. He was at Texas yesterday and the Longhorns also gave him a lot to think about too, but from what I've heard I'd give the Aggies the early edge.**********Some quick notes-Put the name Solomon Turner down on your lists. The guy is a 6-2, 205-pound LB with the frame to get bigger and cover skills. He has an NFL pedigree, and he has been wrecking shop on the camp circuit. He played everywhere from WR to LB to S and combines cover skills and physical play. https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/965336519870439431-NaNa Osafo-Mensah showed some serious speed on the edge and opened up 1on1s with two big wins over Oklahoma bound 2018 OL Darrell Simpson. https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/965364939123757057-Majik Rector is as quick as they come and he continues to shake people up from his slot position. He is small but the quickness and the confidence (he has been competing against D1 athletes for the past two years) is hard to find.-2020 OL Trent Pullen looked the part today at OL/DL camp. He already holds an offer from Baylor, but he will no doubt see that offer list grow considerably. His feet were very nice in addition to his size.https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/965370289373761536-2020 OL Jett Duncan of the Woodlands is an interior OL worth watching. Big, stout kid with little bad weight on his frame, and he plays mean.-2019 Killeen DL RaQuan Thompson was easy to spot today. He checks in at about 6-3, 245 and he worked at both DE and DT. He showed a quick first step and won reps on both the interior and on the edge.-2019 Argyle OL Preston Wilson had some nice reps today. He's also another big prospect with light feet, little bad weight, and he is smart. -2020 Lancaster CB Lorando Johnson and 2020 CB Collin Gamble both had solid days. A guy to watch is Plano Prestonwood CB Chase Lowery (5-11, 165) Very good size for a young guy. https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/965328009770291205

Went out to see a promising DE prospect today
This morning I went out to see Argyle Liberty Christian 2019 DE Isreal Isuman-Hundley. The Warriors are wrapping up the last big practice before their scrimmage on Friday, and since Isuman-Hundley did not compete on the varsity level and I didn't get to see him do football drills in the spring, I wanted to get a look at a guy I consider one of the more intriguing prospects in the area.A little back story for you guys. He's the 6-5, 230-pound WDE who played basketball and was a WR when he initially moved over from basketball. His length and overall athleticism were a few things I already knew about, Now the thing that jumped out to me today was the strength. And from what I hear this guy lives in the weight room to the point you have to tell him to leave. Today, and granted it was half pads and just practice, but it was impressive to see him anchor and to see him press and extend. He is still very raw technically, but the tools he has are going to make him a hot target after his 2017 film gets to college coaches. He did camp at Texas A&M in July and the Aggies have been keeping a close eye on him. He already holds offers from Baylor and Oklahoma State, and the Cowboys seemed to have made a pretty strong early impression. https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/897798723920695296https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/897801221389602816https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/897808557059579904A couple of other guys to watch for the Warriors are 2018 S Kason Howell who is committed to play baseball at Auburn and 2018 LB Grant Sawyer who is committed to Tulsa.2021 QB Travis Keetch is a name to tuck away. He is young, but look for him to get some quality time this fall. Very polished. The Warriors also have a couple of 2020s in CB Collin Gamble and DT Keimoniee Greene

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
