Recruiting news, notes and thoughts from Sky's the Limit/Coach Flight Training
- Before the 2016 season Tommy Bush was on the TexAgs.com radar, but today was the first time I got a chance to see him in person. I'll just say I knew he was good, but I did not realize just how good. Quick feet, great speed and explosion. He has great length and he got his hands out in front to catch the ball. And after what I saw today from a size, speed, footwork standpoint it is easy to see why he has blown up and added offers from across the country. The Aggies have not offered yet, but he is on coach Moorehead's radar. He has been in communication with coach Moorehead and from what I heard Texas A&M's interest has been increasing lately. We'll see if that translates to an offer but there is communication right now.- Allen RB Brock Sturges was another top 2018 prospect out there today. He is one stout looking guy. He has not heard much from the Aggies, but he would not mind hearing from the Aggies. Houston and Baylor have been coming on strong lately and Houston has caught his attention. He was recently at Baylor for Junior Day and he is looking at taking a visit to SMU soon. - Arlington Oakridge tight end Christoph Henle was a guy we first saw at the Tulane/Texas A&M camp in Shreveport in June. It looks like he has added some nice weight to his frame. At Oakridge he has shown he can be a big target in the passing game and today I saw a guy who could be a versatile threat as a traditional pro-style tight end. - One of the best plays of the day had to be the one-handed grab EJ Smith caught. The 2020 ATH from Dallas Jesuit is the son Emmitt Smith and as you guys can imagine he is quite the athlete. He kept the DBs off balance throughout the day in one-on-ones and was light on his feet. - There were a few other underclassmen who showed well today. Plano John Paul II 2020 WR Donavon Johnson (6-4, 200), 2021 WR Majik Rector, and 2021 WR Darious Goodloe (6-1, 155) all showed well throughout the day. Rector is already drawing quite a bit of attention and had no problem taking on and beating older competition. He's a slot guy who with great quickness and explosion. - 2019s were also making things happen. Hebron WR Trejan Bridges is a smooth playmaker at receiver. With a couple of 2019 WRs making decisions today, Bridges could be one to watch. He already holds a BYU offer and Mississippi State is showing a lot of interest. A new guy for me was Frisco Heritage RB Andrew Henry. The 5-10, 175-pound back has a thick lower half and showed some very quick feet. Plano East CB Zach Nwachukwu showed off his physical side, but he also had some great hips.
