The Pylon 7on7 National Championships will take place in Dallas this weekend, and there are some big time talents expected to take the field. Several of those talents have ties to the Aggies, and there are some big reasons why the weekend's events will be of interest. 1.) Tight end commitment Keynel McZeal, of Port Neches-Groves, and running back commitment Travis Etienne Jr, of Jennings (LA), will be competing. They are teammates with the EPS Blaze, a team of mostly southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas talents. 2.) Key targets CeeDee Lamb, Terrace Marshall, and Devodrick Johnson will all be in action. Lamb, one of the top receiver prospects in the country, is taking a long look at Texas A&M. Oklahoma appears to be the main competition for his services at this time. He will compete with Boom, a team out of Chicago. Marshall is a 2018 receiver who received an offer from Texas A&M following his performance at the camp in Shreveport in early June. He already holds offers from across the country and he will play with the Bootleggers this weekend. Dallas Kimball athlete Devodrick Johnson has been high on the Aggies too. Word is the Aggie are currently at the top of his list right now. He will compete with True Buzz this weekend. 3.) There are a ton of intriguing names to watch. The Aggies are looking for big receivers, New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr 2017 Racey McMath has been a hot regional recruit and was offered by LSU after a strong camp performance in June. He'll be working with the Bootleggers this weekend. Dallas Skyline 2018 cornerback Dayven Coleman has great size at 6-2, 190, and is beginning to draw attention from across the country. He will be with True Buzz along with 2019 Skyline athlete Velton Gardner. Working alongside the A&M commits on the EPS Blaze is Silsbee 2018 receiver Kalon Barnes who recently received his first offer from Texas Tech. Port Neches-Groves 2019 quarterback Roschon Johnson, a prospect Brauny first mentioned a few weeks ago, will be in action with Team Elite Beaumont. The Bootleggers also have a host of 2018s and 2019s to watch, many already with offers. Anthony Williams is a dynamic 2018 athlete out of Boutte (La.) Hahnville, receiver JaMarr Chase of Metairie Archbishop Rummel already has the attention of college coaches as does West Monroe athlete Slade Bolden . LSU commit Derek Stingley leads the Bootleggers 2019 class and Kentwood standout receiver Trey Palmer also reports an LSU offer. 4.) A strong contingent of national prospects are also on the rosters of several teams. Five-star Florida State commitment Stanford Samuels leads a Warzone squad which also includes receiver Jerry Jeudy and 2018 standout Dominick Watts. Clairton (Pa.) standout Lamont Wade leads the 412 Elite and 2018 receiver Kamryn Babb leads the ESA flight out of St. Louis. The Bootleggers squad includes Devonta Smith, Todd Harris, Brad Stewart, and Devonta Jason, Corione Harris, and Kelvin Joseph. 2018 cornerback Houston Griffith is one of the top prospects in the Midwest and will be with the Boom, and Florida State 2018 commitment Justin Watkins will lead a strong Marion County Stars squad. Teams will arrive Friday and pool play begins Saturday with action continuing into Sunday. Saturday pool play will take place at Mountain View College and Sunday will be at AT&T Stadium.
