A few Monday afternoon notes
-Moultrie (GA) Colquitt Co. 2019 Jay Ward did not take his visit to FSU and instead went to Kentucky this weekend. He does plan to take his official visit to Florida State this weekend though. Ward was previously committed to Kentucky and if he doesn't end up at FSU it looks like he goes back to Kentucky.-It does sound like the Aggies made up some ground on Daphne (AL) DB Christian Williams, however; the Bayou Bengals out of Baton Rouge sure seem to have some growing confidence there. He will take his official visit to LSU this weekend. Talking to a few LSU sources, it also sounds like confidence is up for Amite's Ishmael Sopsher and Devonta Lee.-After Chris Russell's visit to Arkansa it looks like it's Arkansas and Texas A&M for the Dyersburg (TN) LB. He is still scheduled to visit Tennessee this weekend but Arkansas seems to be the main threat according to sources I've talked to. -I caught up with a few underclassemen about the Super Bowl party. Duncanville S Chris Thompson said he does not believe he will be able to make it. EJ Smith said he will not make it either. I noted in the visit thread that 2021 OL Erick Cade and Texarkana Pleasant Grove 2021 DE Landon Jackson will also not be able to attend. -One person planning to make it in for the weekend is recent Texas A&M offer and Denton Ryan 2021 standout Ja'tavion Sanders. Coach Price is leading the Aggies recruiting efforts."Coach Price is a cool man. I've been talking to him for some weeks now. I like him and I'm thinking about going there one day," Sanders said. "First of all their facilities are beautiful, they have a good coaching staff, their football team is good, their track team is good, ect."Sanders picked up an offer from Georgia today and he plans to visit SMU, Texas, and Oklahoma in February. Texas is someone to watch in this one. They have not offered but coach Herman has let him know they want to offer when he goes up to the Longhorns Junior Day and he says his family are Longhorn fans. When the Longhorns offer it looks like they will become a major player here, but regardless of what happens I look for him to look at his options -Carrollton Ranchview 2020 ATH Michael Henderson is planning to get out to Texas A&M this spring. He will visit Texas this weekend and he plans to start taking his official visits in April and make his college decision in July or August."I have some schools that I like more than others, but I'm still open for everybody," Henderson said. "OU is standing out, Texas A&M, Florida, schools like that."He keeps in regular contact with coach Price and he liked what he saw of Jimbo Fisher"I think they're getting better," Henderson said. "I think Jimbo is leading them in the right direction. It's a step in the right direction."If I'm honest here, I'd say OU is my prediction.

A few real quick notes
North Forest OL Javonne Shepherd has already started his long weekend at Bama and Georgia according to a source near the recruitment. Alabama CB commit Christian Williams still has plans to be in College Station tomorrow for an official visit. Sounds like the ship is quickly sailing with Amite (LA) ATH Devonta Lee. At this point, I do not expect a visit to A&M based on what I was told this afternoon.Bradley Dale Peveto is back in Tennessee to visit with Chris Russell and those around him today.

A few Wednesday afternoon quick hitters
-Spoke to a source very near to Dyersburg (TN) LB Chris Russell, and I'm starting to feel more comfortable about this being a two horse race between the Aggies and Volunteers. My source said Russell's visit to College Station a couple weeks back was a huge eye opener. He said since A&M was kind of later to the party, Chris had no idea what Aggieland was like. "Let's just say he found out things indeed are bigger in Texas." My source said Bradley Dale Peveto and Jimbo Fisher have done a phenomenal job with Chris, and they're the biggest reasons for the late A&M surge. Russell will take an OV to Arkansas though multiple folks I've spoken with do not view the Hogs as a threat at this point in time. The Aggies are expected to send Coach Fisher in home with Russell next week. -Secondly, conversations between A&M and Amite (LA) ATH Devonta Lee continue today about setting a visit, possibly this weekend. Nothing is set though, and we may know something one way or another tonight.

Tuesday afternoon recruiting updates
-I'm still not ready to go all in on the Javonne Shepherd to A&M movement. Georgia is making a strong push. Bulldog OL Sam Pittman was in Houston last week to meet with Shepherd as was Jeff Banks either Alabama. I heard Pittman really impressed Shep and those around him. It'll be noteworthy if Javonne finds his way to Athens at some point. While I don't believe he'd go that far away from his support system, it did surprise me how highly thought of Pittman had become to Javonne and others. The Texas visit was still scheduled at last check, as well. -The Aggies are expecting Daphne (AL) CB Christian Williams to visit this weekend, but it's not set in stone just yet according to one of my sources. We've been reporting that this was being worked on, and it sounds like this weekend may be the Ags best shot to get him to town. I've also been told that Devonta Lee remains in talks with the A&M staff to reschedule his previously missed visit. Nothing substantial to report in terms of a trip to College Station yet though, and it sounds like the homestate Tigers are doing what they do.-The Aggie coaches are back on the road. We told you last night about Darrell Dickey heading to California, but we've also heard Coach Fisher is out on the west coast as well. He'll see Aggie legacy Sam Adams as well as 2021 Washington QB commit Sam Huard in the Pacific Northwest. More locally, Terry Price was in Bastrop today to see 2020 DE target Alfred Collins. A source out there also told me TP will return to see Collins play basketball tonight. Mike Elko is in DFW to see the usual cast of characters on the Aggie defensive big board in the Metroplex. -I've heard some 2020 in state linebacker names to really keep an eye on for A&M are Denton Ryan's Drew Sanders (OU commit), Stafford's Rob Wooten, CyCreek's Josh White, and even Ft Bend Hightower's Christian Hood. In terms of upcoming offers, I'd watch for Wooten and White. -I'm working on an update on Dyersburg (TN) LB Chris Russell and will make another thread once I hear back from some folks in Tennessee. I'll also have a few quotes from OL signee Layden Robinson on the heels of his official visit last weekend.

Note on a potential visitor (2 PM update with the very latest)
There's been some talk that Amite (LA) ATH Devonta Lee cancelled his official visit to Texas A&M this weekend. I checked around to a few sources and one trusted Louisiana source said Lee was not sure if he would take the the visit.Lee is obviously thinking things over but it has not been cancelled at this time. This is definitely something to watch though.***************************************************************************2 pm update from Brauninger Just spoke with a tied in source on the Devonta Lee recruitment. Devonta will be playing his third basketball game of the week tonight. He's been going non-stop all week and is in the process of rescheduling his visit to Texas A&M.Lee has been in contact with the Aggie coaching staff about all this since Wednesday, and he's spoken directly with Jimbo Fisher. The Amite coaching staff, along with the A&M staff, agreed that it'd be better to reschedule than Lee get to College Station well after midnight and subsequently cut his visit short by nearly a full day. The plan was to drive, not fly. Also, other schools recruiting Lee are now selling him on playing purely offense. Lee's absence this weekend means Dyersburg (TN) LB Chris Russell will be the only linebacker on campus.

The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
