A few Wednesday recruiting notes
For those of you who were waiting on recruiting to pick up, you should be satisfied now. There's been a lot of news and movement over the last two weeks or so. Here are some more notes I've picked up over the last day...-Heard late last night that Manvel OLB Brian Johnson's decision could be coming in the next week or so. It feels like this one is trending A&M's way down the stretch as well.-If you're looking for a 2019 WR that could be influenced the most by Grant Gunnell's commitment, it could be Ft Bend Travis playmaker Arjei Henderson. Word going around is that he's started to come around on A&M in recent days. -Spring Dekaney's Malcolm Epps released his top 6 via Twitter. The Aggies made the cut, but I, and many others, feel very strongly this one will turn up burnt orange. Epps has said he will visit College Station this summer, but he hasn't made it to campus when he's said similar things in the past. -In lieu of A&M's recent commit run, I've been told talks with Ridge Point's Mustapha Muhammad continue to be productive. Even as schools Michigan and Clemson have had the late momentum, Muhammad never stopped communicating with Jeff Banks and the A&M staff. In fact, at one point I was told that back and forth was daily. Since the pledges of Wright and O'Neal, 'Staph has been really feeling the Maroon & White love. Long way to go still, and a lot will have to proven on the field, but to call the Aggies out of this one would be really premature.-A new TE offer went out today to 2019 prospect Grayson Boomer . The 6-5, 230 pounder holds offers from Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska, and Oregon, among others. The early returns sound like this one is the Sooners' to lose with the main competition coming from Texas. The Aggies have put a high priority on Plano Prestonwood's Austin Stogner in that 2019 TE class.https://twitter.com/boomergrayson/status/872479680036839424-A pair of Houston North Forest prospects got A&M offers throughout the camp circuit in College Station, and I'm told the Ags will have a great shot to land both 2019 OL Javonne Shepherd and 2020 WR Demond Demas by jumping on them early.
