Couple late night notes
I started typing these at like 8:30 and fell asleep with the text box still open. Real slick, I know. Anyway, I managed to round up some stuff on a few prospects Sunday night and throughout Monday. Brenham LB Marqez Bimage wrapped up last week by having some big time programs stop by to see him. Terry Price and Jeff Banks were there for the second time in a month, as well as coaches from LSU, Cal, and TCU. Bimage told me he's remained in consistent contact with the Aggies, and they're wanting to continue their evaluation of him through the summer. He will be coming to camp in Aggieland at the beginning of June. With the LB crop in Texas this year like it is, linebacker prospects like Bimage and FB Elkins' Kenneth Murray are two guys that will continue to get long looks by the Aggies. Murray has seen his stock soar lately. He picked up Oklahoma and Michigan offers last week and has other coaches on the verge of pulling the trigger. He's been vocal about how much the OU offer meant to him lately. Murray has been in contact with area recruiter Clarence McKinney and says their relationship continues to grow. Look for Kenneth to make a trip to Aggieland soon. I continue to hear good things about two out of state defenders. Tennessee DT Ben Hutch is a kid that I heard again today is really close to jumping on board with the Aggies. Defensive tackle is another interesting spot for this year's class because (outside of TD Moton) the Ags failed to sign any interior guys. You'd think 4 guys would be ideal in this class and possibly more if you can get an either/or prospect that could go DT or DE. Put Hutch's name near the top of the list in terms of guys looking to grab a spot sooner rather than later. Things continue to go well on the Tyree Johnson front for the Maroon & White. I spoke to Tyree tonight and not much has changed for him. He still plans on visiting College Station again on his own dime this summer. As I've said before, my gut says the Ags are further out front here than most national people think. Pretty interesting last couple of days for Caldwell corner and A&M commit Devin Morris who added offers from Oklahoma St, Mizzou, and Florida St. Devin is on my list of guys to visit this week. Week 4 of my spring tour looks like it'll be Caldwell, Magnolia West, Manvel, and either Ft Bend Marshall or ****inson. There's some late night nugs for you owls. I'll also be hearing arguments both for and against "Two Dozen Roses" by Shenandoah being one of the most underrated country songs of all time. That three hour nap means I'll be up awhile.

New Orleans RB Tre Turner taking lengthy look at A&M
The 2016 Holy Cross (La.) star running back and outfielder saw much of what he needed to during two trips to Aggieland. From LSU to former committed school Mississippi State and other visits, what options is he keeping close?

Louisiana ATH White finds enticing opportunity in Aggieland
2016 North Webster (La.) ATH Devin White made the trip to A&M for the junior day and liked what he heard during meetings with more than half the staff. His process will play out, but is A&M sitting in prime position?

The 2016 North Webster (La.) RB/LB tripped to Aggieland for the Ole Miss game and left with an offer in hand, kicking off a recruitment that may be slightly unique among prospects coming from LSU's backyard.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
