A pair of Friday night notes
Looch is on the road so I'm helping him out tonight.-Billy has been hearing some positive news for A&M on Blinn CB Kendall Sheffield in the past 48 hours. Sheffield still has some academic work to finish up online and at Blinn if he wants to be a mid term enrollee. A&M's early enrollees move to town on Tuesday, but classes don't start until the 17th so there's still a week and a half. However, when you combine what Looch has heard with the reports from Jason in San Antonio indicating some uncertainty amongst Texas folks in the know, it's certainly a noteworthy turn. Sheffield could still end up at any of the final 3 locations (A&M, Texas, Ohio St), but there has been a recent uptick for the Maroon & White.-Washington DC DE Tyree Johnson was offered by both Texas and TCU yesterday. It's interesting that two in state schools would offer an A&M commit from the northeast with such little time left until Signing Day. Johnson has visits scheduled to Michigan St (Jan 13), A&M (Jan 20), and Auburn (Jan 27). If you're looking for a committed guy that the Aggies will have to fight for down the stretch, Tyree may be your man. I'll say again though, he and his family were very straightforward with their intentions to attend Texas A&M while in Orlando last week. I've been told Johnson is still in contact with other members of the recruiting class as well.
