It is game week and Texas A&M is set to host top several top recruits from across the country. Many members of Texas A&M's No. 1 recruiting class will be in attendance, as well as both of the Aggies 2028 commitments. There is a strong presence from across Texas and there are some top national prospects as well. TexAgs HS Recruiting Stop - Gilmer
This morning I made my way out to Gilmer to check in on big Ismael Camara. He is our No. 1 rated prospect in the state, and at 6-6.5, 345, he is a different kind of athlete. They had him catching passes, lining up at h-back and pulling around as a lead blocker, he worked at d-line, and to say he is a special kind of different just doesn't really sum it all up properly.Gilmer (TX) 5-star 2027 OL Ismael Camara, checks in at 6-6.5, 345 and it is easy to see why Texas A&M and college coaches around the country have made him a high priority target. @Only1_iscamara | @RecruitGilmerFB | @GilmerBuckeyeFB | @TA_Recruiting pic.twitter.com/q41cBllfjW— Jason Howell (@Jason_Howell) May 7, 2026 Camara has been busy checking in with programs from coast-to-coast this spring, and he will be busy this summer with official visits. There are still several key players in his recruitment and Texas A&M is definitely one of them.Texas A&M has been a mainstay in his recruitment. He visited this spring, he visited in the fall, he has visited several times in the past, the Aggies were an early offer, and he will return for an official visit at the end of May. Coach Elko, coach Cushing, and coach Trooper Taylor have all developed strong relationships with Camara. Trooper Taylor is known as "unc". Camara also has some strong connections with guys like Kennedy Brown and is hearing from members of the Aggies' 2027 recruiting class. Texas, Oregon, Alabama, LSU, and Tennessee are a few more I'd currently put up there pretty high, and as official visits near he is keeping a pretty open mind to the process. That said, I have felt the Aggies held a pretty strong position from early on in his recruitment and I continue to believe the Aggies will be a top contender to ultimately sign him. Camara is not the only Gilmer prospect on the Aggies' radar. ATH Kipton Neighbors is also a standout to watch. 6-2, 195, a versatile weapon, he has strong athletic roots in his family. He visited A&M this fall, and the Aggies are watching him closely right now. Offers have already arrived from SMU, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Kentucky, Houston, Wake Forest, UTSA, and Sacramento State. He competes for UIL gold in the pole vault next weekend and he qualified for state by clearing 15-feet. Gilmer (TX) 2028 ATH Kipton Neighbors checks in at 6-2, 195 with 32.5 vertical. Known as a multi-faceted, explosive playmaker, Neighbors is quickly piling up the offers@KiptonNeighbors | @RecruitGilmerFB | @GilmerBuckeyeFB | @TA_Recruiting pic.twitter.com/aUvo2phET7— Jason Howell (@Jason_Howell) May 7, 2026 Another name to watch is 2028 RB Tayveon Horne who currently holds offers from Houston, UTSA, and Texas Tech.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
