A Few Monday Recruiting Notes
A couple of longtime Texas A&M OL targets have decisions coming up in the near future. Jersey City (NJ) St. Peter's OT Oluwasemilore Olubobola is set to decide tomorrow. He lists Texas A&M among his finalists alongside Miami and Notre Dame. This one has been trending a different direction for a few weeks now, and right now Notre Dame would be my prediction. Chandler (AZ) Basha OT Jake Hildebrand is set to decide next Tuesday (May 19). He lists the Aggies as a finalist along with Arizona State, Oregon, and Utah, and I expect him to stay out West with Utah and Arizona State the two I'm watching the closestWe have mentioned the Aggies have been more focused on other targets, with the likes of. Ismael Camara, Albert Simien, Mark Matthews, and Jordan Agbanoma a few targets of note to keep an eye on as the Aggies continue to build the 2027 OL class.Staying on the 2027 front the Aggies extended another CB offer, Indianapolis (IN) Lawrence Central standout Errol Kerns III received an offer this weekend. He committed to Miami (OH) in late April, but he has seen his stock take off recently with Michigan and Texas A&M offers both arriving on Saturday and Kentucky and Northwestern the most recent to join his growing list. The 6-foot, 195-pound corner is also a standout wrestler and reports a 4.44 forty in his twitter bio. Over the weekend, recent CB offer Tavares Harrington announced a top five of Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, Ole Miss, and Notre Dame.

Sunday DB Recruiting Notes
It is no secret Texas has been coming on for North Crowley 5-star CB John Meredith III, but for those ready to count out the Aggies I'm gonna pull a Corso and say not so fast. This one has been shaping up to be an in-state fight between the Aggies and Longhorns and confidence is definitely growing in Austin. However, I continue to hear the Aggies are very involved, and I am not ready to wave the white flag just yet.Now the waters are a little murkier lately, and I have had a few plugged in sources let it be known he is capable of a surprise or two regarding his recruitment whether that be his decision timeline, favorites or whatever. Lately, there has been a lot of talk about his decision timeline, and after checking with a few trusted sources close to his recruiting I continue to hear the plan is to take a few OVs before deciding. Those same sources though have indicated some of those visit dates may change which could lead to an earlier decision timeline. The Aggies are also very involved with five-star CB Joshua Dobson, and they have been trending in a very positive direction. Dobson has now visited multiple times, and he hosted the Aggie coaches a couple of weeks ago. He currently plans are to take his official visits before making his college decision this summer, and LSU and South Carolina are a couple of other top contenders to watch. Now, we have been clear in saying we do not anticipate both Meredith and Dobson ending up in A&M's 2027 class, and with both having high interest it could lead to some interesting twists and turns over the next few weeks. Regardless both remain recruitments to watch, and the Aggies are well positioned for two of the nations' best.Texas A&M also extended a couple of 2027 DB offers this week - Tavares Harrington of Chicago (IL) and Loia Valade now at West Boca Raton (FL) - and we continue to hear the Aggies are looking for another versatile defensive back. Both Harrington and Valade fit that bill and the new offers is an indication of the Aggies interest. Both already have some OV plans, Valade with Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, and Florida and Harrington with Notre Dame, Georgia, and Alabama, so the Aggies will need to move quickly. If you want a potential in-state target, the Aggies continue to keep an eye on Shadow Creek CB Brandon Sherrard who has a late May OV set for College Station.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
