Let's start with some recruiting notes. The Aggies continue to lay a strong foundation in the 2028 and 2029 classes.No new commitments from the weekend, none were expected. Three new offers, including 2028 WRs Kyrin Armelin and Kenyon Armelin who are the first to Kerrville (TX) Tivy standouts to be offered since Johnny Manziel. The Aggies also offered Port Arthur Memorial 2029 S Jermire Roberts. IMG had a strong presence, JD Edwards was back in town, there was a strong 2028 o-line presence, and overall the recruit reaction cold not have been more glowing. It is always good to see a group of commits in town with WR Eric McFarland III, EDG Zyron Forstall, EDG Kaden McCarty, and S JayQuan Snell in town. You can expect to see Carthage WR JD Edwards in town at most of Texas A&M's home games. Another East Texan caught my attention. San Augustine 2028 OL Jamarios Canton had a great weekend in town and felt "like family" while he soaked in the atmosphere. He mentioned recruiting visits coming up to Auburn and Kentucky and Miami is also in the works. It may be something, it may be nothing but him being in town this weekend instead of Austin caught my eye. 2028 OL Jamarios Canton returned to Kyle Field on Saturday | TexAgs Carrollton (GA) DL Jamir Lee made a big statement about the atmosphere at Texas A&M and declared the Aggies one of his top schools."The atmosphere is always great at A&M. Theres no other place like it which is part of the reason why they're high on my list. I have a great relationship with the coaches, so I felt at home the whole time."He visited last fall so he has taken multiple visits to College Station and he received his offer last fall. Danville (CA) San Ramon Valley OL Aden Owolabi was blown away by his experience and as an added bonus he got to see former San Ramon Valley standout Marco Jones shine on gameday. "Being at Kyle field and hearing the crowd was insane. The chants and the noise they were making on 3rd downs and touchdowns definitely proved why they are known as the 12th Man."Weekend Recruiting Thread - Sept 11-13 | TexAgs Now for a few thoughts from my games this week. -S JayQuan Snell is a bad dude. Talk about an imposing figure on the back end of the defense, and they do a great job of moving him around and getting him involved in the pass rush as well. -Denton Guyer 2028 DL Logan Lokey visited Aggieland week 1 and the Aggies have had some decent momentum there, but there is a lot of OU smoke surrounding his recruitment at the moment. OU recruits the school well and the Texas legacy has formed great bonds in Norman. Right now they would be my prediction.-Denton Guyer 2028 WR Tristan Shelton had the most impressive all-around performance I saw all weekend. Not only is he an impressive athlete at the WR position, but he made plays all night long. He made a contested grab and then powered through multiple Waxahachie defenders for YAC, he had a devastating block on the edge to spring another ball carrier (it was called back, but I'd argue the block was clean). He recovered a fumble in the redzone to punch in a late TD. Overall very impressive, hard fought ball game from one of the top up and coming prospects in the state. That should be no surprise for anyone here, but they are a deadly combination and showed why they are both heavily recruited. 2028 San Augustine (TX) OL Jamarios Canton was back in Aggieland this weekend to see A&M go to work against Arizona State as he soaked in the atmosphere at Kyle Field, spent time around the coaches and saw a few familiar East Texas faces on the field.
