2025 tight end Kevin Magera reviews his first trip to College Station
2025 Mesquite Horn tight end Kevin Magera was in College Station over the weekend as he got his first looks at Texas A&M. As he continues to build his relationships with the Aggies' coaching staff, there are a few aspects of the A&M program that are beginning to standout.

Wednesday DFW Recruiting Notes
I made a few stops around the DFW area this week. On Monday I hit Guyer, Tuesday it was a trip to Mesquite Horn and today it was Flower Mound Marcus in the morning and South Oak Cliff this afternoon. Let's start with the new offers. The Aggies offered two DFW standouts today. South Oak Cliff 2025 OL Emeka Ugorji and Mesquite Horn 2026 CB Ryan Gilbert. Both have been on the Aggies' radar for awhile and both have been among the areas hottest prospects since the end of the season. Ugorji, a 6-5, 280-pound OT, won OL MVP honors at the UA Camp a couple of weekends ago and at the time he said he planned to visit A&M this spring. Those visits plans have solidified, he will take an unofficial April 13. Gilbert, a 5-11, 170 CB, also had a standout performance at the UA Camp. He visited Texas A&M for the Aggies' early February Junior Day and he hopes to return soon. Coach Elko and coach Peterson have both made a strong impression. Now for some news on some guys who already held offers I have interviews coming with Horn 2025 OL Lamont Rogers and 2026 S Markel Ford. The Aggies continue to position themselves nicely for both. They will take unofficial visits to College Station on March 30. Mesquite Horn 2025 OL Lamont Rogers. a top priority for the Aggies and one of the nation’s best. He will visit College Station March 30 and return for his OV June 6@TheLamontRogers | @CoachAllenHC | @tajakaha | @KoachMak | @HornJagsRecruit pic.twitter.com/PpdL60Km8T— Jason Howell (@Jason_Howell) March 20, 2024
Ford really likes the opportunity to play for a defensive minded head coach and he has also established a strong bond with coach Ish. Rogers also has plans to take an OV to A&M June 6-8, and this upcoming trip to College Station will be the first time his mom has visited Aggieland. March 30 will be a big weekend for the offered guys at SOC too. DE Kamauryn Morgan, LB Jayden Shelton, and 2026 LB Jamarion Phillips all have visits planned for the day. Morgan and Shelton have not scheduled OVs to Texas A&M but they are in discussions. Denton Guyer 2025 DL Xavier Ukponu is up to 290 and he also plans to take an unofficial visit to Texas A&M on March 30. His OV is scheduled for June 21. Here's a few more names to watch Horn 2025 tight end Kevin Magera (6-5, 230) is also on the Aggies radar, and he plans to visit March 30. Magera currently holds offers from Arkansas State, Bowling Green, Houston, La Tech, Marshall, and UTEP. South Oak Cliff 2026 DL Kordae Houston checks in at 6-4, 260. Nevada and UNT offered shortly before the February dead period and he is a guy to watch this spring. He was relegated to JV due to transfer rules, but he has made waves since arriving last spring. 2026 CB Marcell Gipson Jr did play last fall and the 5-11, 170-pound CB has NFL bloodlines and he is quickly adding offers. Wisconsin is the most recent and he currently has seven offers including Oregon, Pitt, SMU, and Texas Tech. In SOC's 2027 class OL Brian Swanson is also generating quite a bit of buzz at 6-5, 295 Guyer 2027 DL Khyren Haywood already checks in at 6-2, 270 and already holds offers from Arizona State, Baylor, Houston, SMU, and UNT and recorded 45 tackles and 6 TFLs on his way to third-team all-district honors as a freshman. His 2027 teammate Zane Rowe was focused on DE on Monday and he is a special athlete. A standout at TE and DE, he was offered by Texas A&M under Jimbo Fisher and made a few visits to Aggieland. He's definitely one to keep on your radar. He had a strong showing at both TE and DE at the UA Camp in Dallas. Flower Mound Marcus 2027 QB Colton Nussmeier is another. He is the son of Doug and brother of Garrett, and he is already 6-2, 180 with offers from Murray State, Baylor, Texas Tech, Kansas State, TCU, and Wisconsin. Flower Mound Marcus 2027 QB Colton Nussmeier (6-2, 180) turned heads as a varsity FR and offers are arriving quickly. Baylor, Texas Tech, K-State, TCU, Wisconsin, and Murray St are on the table@coltonnussmeier | @MarcusFootball | @RecruitMarcusFB | @Coach_A_MHS | @harper_coach pic.twitter.com/la4vnc76uY— Jason Howell (@Jason_Howell) March 20, 2024
