Wednesday Recruiting Notes
Brauninger mentioned the Aggies are planning to host three big visitors this weekend with Texas A&M commits TE Xavier Tiller, WR Aaron Gregory, and DE Jordan Carter making their way back to Aggieland. There was some talk about Dorian Barney maybe making his way to town, but he told TexAgs yesterday he plans to be at Georgia this weekend. Barney does plan to visit Aggieland this spring and the Aggies are high on his list. Texas A&M is also set to host a standout 2027 with QB Trae Taylor of Mundelein (IL) Carmel Catholic is also making plans to be in town this weekend. The Aggies offered the 6-3, 185 pound signal caller in early January after OC Collin Klein dropped by the school, and his offer list includes a who's who of college football with Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Oregon already on the table. He plans to arrive on Friday night and stay until Sunday The Aggies extended a new in-state 2026 offer today to North Crowley S Aaron Bradshaw, and he is definitely one to watch after putting together a strong 2024 season. He checks in at 6-3, 190 pounds and he is one of those guys you notice right away. He is physically put together and he came through for some big plays on the back end of the defense as the Panthers made their way to a state championship last fall. He has seen the offers begin to pile up in the last few weeks with LSU, Texas, Houston, Texas Tech, Arizona State, West Virginia, and Michigan State all arriving as well as the Aggies, and he is a guy who will be flying up the rankings lists. Yesterday I mentioned there were some guys I already had in mind for our next rankings update and Bradshaw is one of the first ones on that list. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/17958653/6760b4bbca3802908d255aa8Speaking of secondary the Aggies current DB commits Ryan Gilbert and Markel Ford both made their way to Norman, Okla, for the Sooners Junior Day this weekend. Oklahoma and SMU are two programs coming on strong for both, and Gilbert has seen recent offers from Oregon, Washington, Kansas State, and Washington. Both are making plans to visit College Station in the spring, and they are both committed to the Aggies. However, the attention, especially from SMU and OU, and the OU visit are worth noting and watching.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
