Dead period ends with A&M ahead of schedule in 2027
Mike Elko and the Fightin' Texas Aggies have 10 players already committed in the class of 2027, and the Maroon & White appear "ahead of schedule" in the current cycle. The dead period is over, and players will begin making it to campus, which means more prospects will be on "commit watch."

Three Things: Aggies eye top-end prospects in the trenches, secondary
As he does every Friday morning, TexAgs' senior recruiting analyst Jason Howell offered up another round of his weekly recruiting thoughts. In this edition of his Three Things, Howell scattershot a handful of thoughts about the 2027 class.
Ags well-positioned for another solid offensive group in 2027
Texas A&M already has a quarterback and two offensive linemen committed in the class of 2027, but Mike Elko & Co. are drawing interest from many of the nation's top running backs, receivers, tight ends and offensive linemen as the 2027s take over in the spotlight.
Monday morning recruiting notes
A very early good morning to you from crib side where Beau has laid absolute sulfuric waste to a pair of diapers in the last three hours after about a day of bad gas pains and constipation.Anyway, that's not why I'm here. I've got a few notes from the recruiting trail I'd like to pass along. Let's try to be succinct as there's a live grenade currently sleeping next to me.- I'll start at running back where the primary focus remains Richmond Randle standout Landen Williams-Callis. I've had varying degrees of confidence in this one because the vibes seem to alter depending on who you're talking to. That said, more of my trusted information currently favors the Aggies although I'm sure if you asked the kid he'd say it's very much wide open. I have been told some rival programs are using A&M taking two backs in the last class against them. There's also the matter of uncertainty (or at least that is how it's being described by others) with new offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins.- As usual with Mike Elko and company, not all eggs go in one basket. So, what happens if LW-C winds up elsewhere? Well, that's the question the coaching and personnel staffs in the Bright-Slocum Center have tackled in recent weeks - pouring over tape to make both initial and re-evaluations. In the state of Texas, two more names have emerged as evidenced by their offers at the end of January: Tyler's CaDarius McMiller and DeSoto's SaRod Baker. From what I've been able to gather, both of those kids impressed not only Trooper Taylor but Elko, as well. I always defer to Howell on DFW kids, but I was happy to see the move made on Baker. You don't want to be left out on a DeSoto kid so you better throw your dog in the race if you want in. - Rivals had a report about safety commit Kamarui Dorsey and the continued pursuit being made by elite programs across the country to get him to back away from the Aggies. I've confirmed that on our end, but…so far, so good. It's one worth keeping an eye on as we head into official visits though. - The hottest name in Houston has been Langham Creek LB/EDGE Jhadyn Nelson - who I saw in his first game as a gangly sophomore that the Lobo coaching staff said had enough potential to make some real noise as he matured. Well, it took folks a little bit to notice, but he has exploded with offers as college coaches have made their rounds through the school. The Aggies entered the ring a couple of days ago, and I'm told by a source in that area of Houston that a visit should happen in short order.
