Here's what I've been able to gather over the last few days…- I don't know how many of you have noticed on social media, but Florida has really turned up the heat on Texas A&M DL commit Dealyn Evans. Now, based off everything Jason and I have heard/been told, it doesn't seem like anything is imminent in terms of a flip. However, it is noteworthy that he's removed being an Aggie commit from his Twitter page and changed his photo to him in a Gator jersey. A source in Florida told me UF badly wants him in their class. Based on the intel we have at the moment, I believe A&M can hold on to this one, but it's going to take some work. - On the flip side, Texas A&M has reengaged with Willis QB and Florida commit DJ Lagway. Bobby Petrino went by the school recently to watch DJ throw. I spoke to Lagway at length last week. He told me the Aggies have been on him more lately. There's still a long way to go however as no visit of any sort has been planned. Lagway has his official visit to Gainesville in early June. There's going to need to be some big Maroon and White momentum to get this one back into the ""interesting" department. We'll keep an eye on how things progress over the summer. - Some surprising news out of southeast Texas as it sounds like USC has made a recent surge with Jasper LB Tyanthony Smith and Silsbee ATH Drelon Miller. They'll both take officials to Los Angeles early next month, and I'm told Lincoln Riley has played a big role for the Trojans in both recruitments. There's still time for the Aggies to snatch the momentum back with both, but they'll need to get them to College Station for official visits in June. Both kids have told me directly that they'll take officials to Texas A&M, but I don't believe a date has been locked in just yet from what I was told last night. That probably should become a priority as both kids sit near the top of the Aggie big board. - I'm told by a Houston area source that it didn't take long for new WR/TE offer Jordan Washington to schedule an official visit. The Langham Creek standout will be in town on June 2nd. - Positive A&M vibes emanating from 5 star DL Williams Nwaneri's visit last weekend. A source familiar with the recruitment told me last night that the Aggies have climbed into his top 3 and can expect at least one return visit for the pool party while also likely receiving an official visit during the fall. I've heard the Alabama game mentioned, but it didn't sound like anything had been set in stone. - Lastly, I spoke with Atlanta (GA) ATH and Texas A&M baseball commit Terrence Kiel Jr on the phone yesterday. He called me right as the top of the 6th inning was starting in the Aggies' SEC Tournament game against Tennessee. So, we actually watched Jace LaViolette's home run together. It was pretty cool to hear how pumped he was as the ball went into the trees in right field. Anyway, I asked him about the football offer from A&M and what it meant for him. Obviously, he was pumped to have the opportunity to play both sports at his dad's alma mater, and, for all intents and purposes, the only decision he's got to make about his college future has more to do with the MLB Draft than anything. Now, we are going to let him make whatever type of announcement he wants, but he told me more than once that if he makes it to college, he was going to be dual sport athlete at Texas A&M. He was pretty cut and dry about it. He also said he wouldn't mind talking to a guy like LaViolette to get his take on the benefits of playing in the SEC versus going pro out of high school.
