The C.E. King Panthers used a 28-point second quarter en route to a 42-0 blowout victory over Spring Dekaney on Thursday night. TexAgs was on hand, and now, we bring you some of the highlights of the TXHSFB action.
A few Friday recruiting notes
- Richmond Randle DT Chace Sims will take an official visit to Texas in a couple of weeks when Mississippi State comes to Austin. At least, that's the plan for now. I talked to Sims before the Notre Dame game, and he mentioned that the Longhorn staff had been pressing him to come to campus. I got the vibe then that the trip would materialize then even though it hadn't been put on the calendar yet. Landon Rink has been a really strong bond with Chace so it'll be interesting to see if Texas can get Sims to budge on his commitment to the Aggies. - We continue to get really positive reports on A&M's standing with 2026 Draper (UT) Corner Canyon QB Helaman Casuga. The kid and his family have been impressed with Aggieland in both of their recent trips, and it sounds like Collin Klein has been consistent in his communication and pursuit since about mid-summer. I don't have a timeline on an announcement, but I really like the Aggies' chances if it's soon. - Do any of you remember a wide receiver here by the name of Billy Mitchell? Well, I know it's super early, but he's got a son in the 2028 class named Dillon Mitchell who's got a chance to be pretty special. The kid is already running in the 10.4 range in the 100 meters, and despite not having varsity tape (that's coming soon based on my conversations with the CE King coaching staff last night), he's already gaining some steam on the recruiting front. Again, I know nobody is probably too interested in a freshman just yet, but I thought I'd drop a note here since it's an A&M legacy. - Staying at CE King, I liked what I saw from 2026 ATH Dionne Sims last night. He doesn't hold an offer yet, but he does have plans to visit later this fall. Oregon, Arizona, and UH are his first P4 offers currently.- I don't anticipate the Aggies making a move on another quarterback, especially as long as Husan Longstreet remains firm on his commitment. If something does happen there though, I hope they give a long look at Austin Carlisle who is off to a sensational start to his senior season at Ft Bend Ridge Point. This kid is a gamer and seems like he'd be a good fit with what Collin Klein has liked to do in the past. He's not the prototype in terms of build, but he can really play. He's currently committed to Willie Fritz and Houston.Incredible night for @RPHS_FB QB @AustinCarlisle_ including this spectacular 80 yard TD run, but @fulshear_fball pulls out a thrilling 49-41 victory.
