Recruiting Notes from UC Houston camp
Wanted to drop some quick hitting notes I'm picking up here in Spring this morning from some of the top players in Houston and beyond…- Conroe Oak Ridge LB Justin Williams has seen his communication pick up with Texas A&M quite a bit recently and has locked in a visit for the spring game. Aggies battling Oregon, Alabama, and Texas in that one right now. - Staying at Oak Ridge, DE Joseph Jonah-Ajonye told me he's on a group text with Elijah Robinson and Terry Price. He talks to them daily. He'll make a trip to College Station on his own at some point to see a practice and will also be at the spring game. His DL teammate Favour Awodoyin told me he'll be at the spring game, as well. - Ft Bend Christian OL Bennett Warren will visit for practice next week. Aggies seem to be in a pretty good spot in that one. - 2025 CyFair DL Landon Rink is fresh off a visit to Oklahoma but is looking forward to getting to A&M to see a practice soon. No date set yet, but he said a trip will happen soon. - Similarly, 2025 Atascocita RB Tory Blaylock said he'll come up for a visit soon but no date was locked in yet. He said, "A&M is easy. I can just hop in the car and go whenever I want." The coaching staff is in steady contact with him and his family. - Blaylock's teammate, 2024 OL Nate Kibble was supposed to make an A&M trip this weekend, but his parents got sick. He'll reschedule and remains very high on Texas A&M. I think this is a kid that Steve Addazio would love to land based on everything I'm hearing as the Aggies eye an opportunity to keep the Atascocita OL pipeline going. - A pair of 2025 Moseses also scheduled Texas A&M visits. Houston Legacy OL Josh Moses told me he'll come to College Station next week, and Baton Rouge (LA) LB Keylan Moses told me he'll likely come up during his spring break in April. He said he and DJ Durkin talk regularly and that Durkin is a key reason the Aggies are an early contender for one of the best defenders in the country. - Look for 2026 linebackers Tank King (Port Arthur Memorial) and Noriel Dominguez (Ft Bend Ridge Point) to pop up on the Aggie radar soon. Both are early contenders as top prospects in the state in that class. I'll add some more notes as I get them out here.

Recruiting notes from Houston and SETX
- The Aggies threw their hat into the ring last week for Ft Bend Marshall safety Josh Lair, and it sounds like they've moved him right near the top of their in-state board amongst defensive backs. A source in Missouri City told me earlier today that the A&M staff was extremely complimentary of Lair in conversations that were had with folks in the area, and it looks like they're going to make a big run to land him this cycle. Lair started his HS career as a QB before making the full time jump to defensive back last year. He's a super athlete that's extremely aggressive/physical in the run game. Again, it sounds like this kid has moved into the "high priority, must get" group in state for TJ Rushing and DJ Durkin. - Speaking of high priorities, another kid that has seen his stock really skyrocket with the Aggie staff is Jasper LB Tyanthony Smith. DJ Durkin has taken the lead role for A&M in this one over the last month or so and is working to continuously build that relationship. A contact in Jasper told me that it felt likely that Smith would stay close to home at the next level, but nothing was set in stone there. From my own personal experience and everyone I talk to around the Jasper program, Tyanthony is an A+ kid who, along with being an elite linebacker prospect, is going to be a huge locker room asset to whichever program he chooses. Aggies right in the middle of the ring in this one. - A name to keep an eye on at Jasper is 2025 jumbo ATH Kiotti Armstrong. One of the more imposing physical specimens in the state in his class, Armstrong is still very raw when it comes to on field production, but that hasn't stopped him from pulling in multiple P5 offers. I think he's best suited as a defensive end, but he's played primarily at tight end up to this point. The Aggies are keeping close tabs. - Staying in SETX, plenty of folks down that way have sung the praises of recent A&M OL offer Weston Davis out of Beaumont United. The 6-5, 280 pounder has turned into quite the athlete over the last 8-12 months as evidenced by the incredible run of offers he pulled in as coaches stopped by the school last month. Since the calendar turned to 2023, Davis has reeled in offers from: Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Alabama, Mizzou, and plenty of others. An area source indicated that the Aggies made a bit of noise when they jumped in the boat. I should have more on this one next week. - Still think LSU is going to have a fight on their hands to hold onto the commitment from Humble Summer Creek LB Xavier Atkins. While I do believe Texas A&M would be the next in line, Atkins is hearing from multiple suitors. I'd look for him to make his way to campus soon to check out spring practice. - Heard some good things about A&M's chances with massive Ft Bend Christian OL Bennett Warren. While I don't think anything is imminent in terms of a commitment (I had one source say it was likely going to be a summer decision), this is one that I feel like A&M could be tough to overcome for competitors throughout the spring. FBCA alum Remington Strickland has helped the Maroon and White effort in this one. - Another underclass offer I was pleased to see go out was to 2025 Galveston Ball defender Jonah Williams. This kid has a chance to be a top 10 player in the state in that class. He's 6-3, 200 pounds right now with highlights from a multitude of positions so far for the Tors. However, I think he's a linebacker at the next level, and some folks on the island I spoke with believe the same. There are some connections to Aggieland though as Jonah's older brother Nick signed with Texas A&M baseball but was selected in the 2nd Round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Rangers and forwent his college career. He's also trained by former A&M linebacker Donnie Baggs.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
