Stopped by to see Hunter Erb and
This week the weather cut my stops a little short but I was able to check out a few Northern DFW programs. The first stop was at Haslet Eaton and stop No. 2 was Prosper Rock Hill, who played its first varsity season last fall. Let's start with the headliner and that is Texas A&M 2022 OL commit Hunter Erb. A standout at Haslet Eaton, Erb committed to Texas A&M after seeing his stock soar in December and January. The 6-foot-7, 300-pound standout has been locked into the Aggies since making his early February commitment. He was in College Station for the spring game last Saturday. Tuesday morning his skillset was on full display as he went through the Eaton morning workout.Texas A&M commit Hunter Erb (@Hunter_Erb66) @EatonEagleFB #GigEm #RecruitEaton pic.twitter.com/kSBsRtjlGL— Jason Howell (@Jason_Howell) April 27, 2021 Haslet Eaton OL and Texas A&M commit Hunter Erb (@Hunter_Erb66) kicking the day off right #GigEm pic.twitter.com/e0b4Pf9NgM— Jason Howell (@Jason_Howell) April 27, 2021 Texas A&M commit @Hunter_Erb66 working pass pro @EatonEagleFB ##RecruitEaton #GigEm pic.twitter.com/n8I6f9hSvs— Jason Howell (@Jason_Howell) April 27, 2021 Now for some Underclassmen to watch, and there are a few guys who I could see developing into Texas A&M level prospects.TE Jaden Platt, Haslet Eaton (2023) - He has the size and build you look for at 6-5, 220, and the blend of athleticism and nastiness to be an all-around tight end. He lines up in-line, as a wing, or flexed to the slot, and he has soft hands to go with his nastiness in the trenches. He moved from QB to WR in the fall, and at the Team USA Combine in March, he was measured with an 81-inch wingspan, recorded a 10-4 broad jump, a 4.8 40, and a 4.56 shuttle.LB Jonah Bowman, Prosper Rock Hill (2024) - At 6-foot-2, 215-pounds Bowman was a varsity starter at Rock Hill. He is a stout presence in the middle with a nose for the football and sideline-to-sideline ability. He already has the size college coaches love and he has plenty of varsity tape. He also played some receiver and tight end in 2020. DL Ben Rosa, Prosper Rock Hill (2024) - The 6-foot-3, 220-pound prospect is just scratching the surface but he has a great frame and he has potential on either side of the trenches. He has a long wingspan and a frame that will no doubt continue to add weight over the next few years. A few more to watch: DE Chancellor Owens, Haslet Eaton (2023), CB Nicholas Butler, Prosper Rock Hill (2024), QB Noah Lugo, Haslet Eaton (2024), WR Dylan Rhone, Prosper Rock Hill (2024), QB Kevin Sperry, Prosper Rock Hill (2025)SleepersI already highlighted Haslet Eaton LB/S Ben Roberts as a prospect to watch earlier this year, and he is indeed a prospect to watch. However, I want to highlight a few others here.S Joseph McGinnis, Prosper Rock Hill (2022) McGinnis has some nice size as a 6-2, 180-pound safety and was a second-team all-district selection. He is a physical presence on the back end and can play in the box. WR Charles Whitebear, Haslet Eaton (2022) The 6-4, 200 pass catcher projects is most likely headed to flex tight end. His size, catch radius, and ability to find and adjust to the ball make him a valuable redzone threat. First team all district in football and basketball.DB Chase Whitebear, Haslet Eaton (2022) The 6-2, 180-pound defender is a box safety with cover ability. He has played outside backer and is currently working at cornerback. He is Charles twin brother. He was a member of Eaton's regional qualifying 4x100 squad alongside Ben Roberts.Super SleeperOL Brayden Reynolds, Prosper Rock Hill (2022) Reynolds is completely under the radar because he moved in from California this spring and California did not play football this fall, so he has no junior film. He played his sophomore season at San Juan Hills High in San Juan Capistrano, CA. He is now a 6-5, 245-pound offensive lineman with a frame to grow into. He plays both center and tackle and he is also an accomplished lacrosse goalie. Two guys I didn't get to see but hope to see soonWhen I stopped through Rock Hill I did not get to see a couple of talents who are worthy of being on the radar.ATH Ty Townsend, Prosper Rock Hill (2023) is the son of current Chicago Bears assistant coach and former NFL and Alabama standout Deshea Townsend. He checks in at 5-11, 190 and coaches believe he has special playmaking potential. He is also a starter on the baseball team.ATH Matt Wagner, Prosper Rock Hill (2023) checks in at 6-4, 200 and his father Eric Wagner played at Penn State. He is a returning starter at H-back and he is Rock Hill's back-up QB behind Texas Longhorn baseball commit Brenner Cox.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
