B/CS recruiting notes and a few 2023 names gaining steam in Houston
- A pair of College Station High standouts in OL Cory Hendrix and TE Houston Thomas backed away from their verbal commitments to Kansas yesterday. Thomas, who's currently at 6-5, 225 pounds, told me that he'll be coming to camp at Texas A&M this summer. Obviously, the Aggies have a stud tight end committed in Donovan Green. Will they want to take more than one? I can't say that for sure, but Thomas is a kid that I could see them taking a long look at if they decide to add another. I suspect his offer list will grow substantially regardless if A&M moves on him or not. Easily projectable athletic traits for a kid with his size and frame to add weight. - I'm also expecting to see 2024 Bryan OL Nathan Murphy at A&M camp this summer. It's still a long way out for that class, and Murphy is very raw, but he's got all the tools to be a highly recruited kid down the road. He's been one of the most impressive 2024's I've seen in my travels to date. - Lastly, I just wanted to put out a few names that have been hitting my radar quite a bit lately as the Aggies continue to identify prospects in the 2023 class. I don't know that any of these get offers in the near future, but I could certainly see that changing as I expect all of them to make it to camp this summer and perform in front of Jimbo Fisher and staff. Aldine Eisenhower CB Tyler Hutcherson - already holds a Tennessee offer. Smaller frame but can really move/cover. Houston Kinkaid ATH Micah Bell - has put up some solid track numbers this spring. LSU just offered this afternoon. Shadow Creek LB Scott Koumado - doesn't have varsity tape but does check a lot of boxes in terms of length, athleticism, and upside. Dickinson CB Vernon Glover Jr - great man coverage ability. Holds offers from Arkansas and Miami already.
