A trio of midweek notes
- Spoke to a Houston area source today on Ft Bend Marshall WR Chris Marshall. While there was some doubt whether he'd get on the plane, Chris did end up taking his official visit to USC. Even so, my source was very confident with where the Aggies stood. Chris speaks with Devon Achane almost daily, and I was told that relationship has gone a really long way in helping A&M's chances. There's also a great amount of trust that has been built between the Ft Bend Marshall staff and the Aggie coaches. - I got a good report on A&M's standing with The Woodlands LB Martrell Harris today from another greater Houston area source. There was a sneaking suspicion that LSU was on the verge of making an offer and pushing, but it sounds like the Aggies would be in strong shape even if that happened. He's set to arrive on Friday for his official visit, and he has said he'd like to have a decision made some time this summer. Tyler Santucci has been running point on this one and has done a great job of connecting with the kid and his entire family. Oklahoma and Notre Dame have been the most consistent threats here, but I think the Aggies could really put a stranglehold on this one with a first class OV experience this weekend. - A name to put on offer watch after camp today is 2023 Stratford TE Hawkins Polley. He was sensational in drill work with James Coley and then continued to impress in one-on-one's with Jimbo Fisher watching. Baylor, UH, SMU, and Vandy have offered, but there have been plenty of big boys taking interest including Alabama and Michigan.

Expected unofficials and camp names to watch
The final piece to our 5 part June visitor overview takes a look at some of the key names to know that we are expecting to see in College Station throughout the entirety of the month of June as unofficial visitors and/or campers. First off, there are going to be many more names come to campus than we have listed here. There's no way to get a grasp of every single D1 prospect that will be coming to camps. The unofficial visitors are a bit easier to get a hold of, but we'll likely be missing a handful of names, plus or minus. With that said, here's what we've been able to gather so far. It's still a pretty extensive list. If we've got dates of the visits, I'll add those as well. Some Thursday recruiting notes
- Texas A&M continues to make the rounds with their top safety targets in terms of phone calls and zooms. We've spoke a lot about the 3 main targets that have emerged in state in Bryce Anderson, Chace Biddle, and Jarred Kerr. The Aggies were once again on a lengthy Zoom call with Anderson on Tuesday night. I've also continued to hear talks with IMG Academy products Kamari Wilson and Keon Sabb have remained engaging enough to give some folks in the southeast reason to believe Jimbo and Co have some staying power in those recruitments, as well. Finally, one out of state name at safety that we haven't mentioned much is Altoona (IA) product Xavier Nwankpa. While Ohio State is thought to be the leader there, Nwankpa has a brother and sister going to school in Texas. Therefore, it wouldn't surprise me to see him turn up on campus at some point during the recruiting cycle. - CyPark LB Harold Perkins will be back on the football field this weekend in 7 on 7 after missing the first part of the circuit due to a lengthy playoff run on the basketball court. This weekend will also signal the return of Conner Weigman to the 7 on 7 scene. Weigman told me he was waiting on Perkins to wrap up their basketball season before working his way back into some football stuff. He's also got to start getting ready for the Elite 11 stuff this summer. Perkins and Weigman both play for Houston Storm 7 on 7. A source in the area says Tyler Santucci continues to do a great job of recruiting Harold. - I got intel out of Missouri City yesterday that Ft Bend Marshall WR Chris Marshall finally ran the 40 for the first time this off-season and clocked an impressive 4.43 and 4.41. I'm not sure if those were hand timed or what, but it impressed the Buffalo coaching staff so much that he's now running for their incredibly impressive track team. He'll compete in the 200 and 4x200 from what I understand. - I was told the Aggies hosted Lakeland (FL) DT Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy on a Zoom call this week. It's hard to gauge just where A&M stands for the nationally elite prospect just yet, but we've seen Elijah Robinson pull these off in the past. He's another one, like Nwankpa above, that I anticipate finding his way to College Station at some point. - 2023 TE name to keep an eye on: Houston Stratford's Hawkins Polley. The 6-4, 220 pounder has some intriguing sophomore tape and has plenty of room to grow and add some twitch.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
