A few Friday quick hitters
- The A&M coaching staff will hit the road this weekend. Some of the Houston stops include Elijah Robinson and Tyler Santucci heading to the Atascocita versus North Shore game tonight and Terry Price stopping by Katy Paetow to see commits David Hicks and Daymion Sanford as well as get his eyes on 2025 DL Carmello Brooks who looks like a sure fire future offer. - We've heard Steve Addazio is in New Jersey to meet with Chase Bisontis. - "Most of the defensive staff" will be at the Denton Guyer vs Southlake Carroll game tomorrow to see Peyton Bowen. Aggies still pushing as hard as they can on that front. - It sounds like they're trying to rally everyone (commits and top targets) to College Station on that December 16th weekend. We are keeping feelers out for who is making plans to be in town for that, but it's shaping up to be pretty stout already. - To piggyback on Howell's interviews with Debron Gatling and Air Noland, a source with knowledge of both recruitments thought the Aggies had an outstanding chance at landing one, if not both, of the talented Georgians. I was told Noland will be paying close attention to the offensive coordinator hire…as will Derek (DJ) Lagway.

Thursday afternoon recruiting updates
I've been able to piece together some intel after making a some calls in the last few days. Here's what I've got:- Texas A&M commits David Hicks and Daymion Sanford will both travel to Oklahoma this weekend after visiting Oregon last weekend. These visits will be/have been officials. The A&M staff has been in communication with both parties since their trip to Eugene. A pair of sources told me they believe Hicks and Sanford will return to College Station at least once more before signing day with it being likely that they're both in town for next weekend's season finale against LSU. One of my contacts in greater Houston felt that the Aggies were in good-standing with Sanford. I was told that the rapidly-rising linebacker was still locked-in with A&M but wanted to take these trips to be sure he was making the right decision. My source said Sanford did express some concern in terms of the nature of the current season but thought it wouldn't be enough to undo anything. The visits for Hicks and Sanford have both been discussed with the A&M staff prior to planning. - In a somewhat surprising update, I feel like the Aggies are quietly surging for Lehi (UT) LB Tausili Akana following his official visit a couple of weeks ago. I was told Akana is a huge fan of the university and the upcoming facility upgrades. I know both parties have been in touch this week. Keep an eye on this one. It's a recruitment that I kind of thought was heading elsewhere. I'm not ready to pick out a leader, but the Maroon and White are right in the thick of it when they had been written off as an afterthought. - Staying at linebacker, the door hasn't completely closed with Denton Ryan standout Anthony Hill. I'm certainly not optimistic in him returning to the class at this point, but there is somewhat of a pulse still. A&M has to find a way to get him back to campus before the early signing period. - I've gotten a trio of positive reports on A&M's pursuit of Converse Judson DL Johnny Bowens. I was told he and his family really liked what they saw and heard during his official visit two weeks ago. He was in Austin last Saturday night, but a central Texas source I spoke with thought the Longhorns were running in third, currently. It's A&M and Oregon, and the Ducks have also done a fantastic job of connecting with Bowens. He had strong relationships with their recruiting staff when they were in College Station, and they've utilized those connections in Eugene. That's a long way from home, though, and I had a contact tell me they thought the distance would be a big hurdle Oregon would have to overcome. - It sounds like A&M's chances to hold on to Austin Westlake OL TJ Shanahan are improving based on what I've been told in the last day or so. I think TJ is comfortable with the surroundings, environment, and a lot of the people (staff, future teammates, fellow commits) in College Station. - I wouldn't expect much in terms of visitors this weekend with it being an 11 am kickoff against UMass in the rain. We'll post any names that make it town on Saturday.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
