Expected unofficials and camp names to watch
The final piece to our 5 part June visitor overview takes a look at some of the key names to know that we are expecting to see in College Station throughout the entirety of the month of June as unofficial visitors and/or campers. First off, there are going to be many more names come to campus than we have listed here. There's no way to get a grasp of every single D1 prospect that will be coming to camps. The unofficial visitors are a bit easier to get a hold of, but we'll likely be missing a handful of names, plus or minus. With that said, here's what we've been able to gather so far. It's still a pretty extensive list. If we've got dates of the visits, I'll add those as well. 2023 Amarillo Tascosa DE Avion Carter modeling his game after Myles Garrett
Amarillo Tascosa 2023 DE Avion Carter checks in at 6-6, 250, and he was a terror on the field in 2020. His recruitment has taken off since January, and he spoke to TexAgs about his process, Texas A&M and his football future.

I hope you guys wanted more Thursday recruiting notes
Earlier this week the Aggies did an in-home visit with Pilot Point LB/ATH Ish Harris and I was told the Aggies knocked it out of the park. Harris and his parents were on the call along with Pilot Point recruiting coordinator Travis Marsh. Coaches Terry Price and Tyler Santucci led the Aggies efforts. I was told Mikado Hinson made a strong impression and overall it went really well. The Aggies made his top five and like I've said before I think it comes down to Texas A&M, Texas, and Oklahoma, and I continue to like the Aggies' chances. Last night the Aggies hosted Duncanville OL Jaylen Early for a Zoom meeting. Early's family was on the call and coach Henson led the meeting. Early said the Aggie Network and the facilities stood out the most on the visit, and Texas A&M did their best to show him and his family there is no place like Texas A&M. Overall it sounds like the meeting was a positive, and like I said yesterday, it looks like the Aggies have positioned themselves nicely to make the cut when Early trims his list.I highlighted Dallas South Oak Cliff 2023 CB Jayvon Thomas in Around Texas earlier today, but I wanted to drop a quick note here. He is on Texas A&M's radar and after watching his tape I could see him quickly rising up the Aggies recruiting board. He has received several offers over the last few weeks with Baylor, Oklahoma, and USC among those. Texas and Texas A&M are both looking hard right now. He is already generating quite a bit of buzz at South Oak Cliff since his arrival. Those guys know a thing or two about nationally ranked CBs and I have been told Jayvon has the tools to be the best they have had in a long time. You guys may have noticed Liucci picked Carrollton Creekview TE Sean Sallis in the TexAgs Offensive fantasy draft yesterday. He has emerged on the Aggies radar over the last few weeks. Coach Coley has been in communication with the 6-5, 220-pound standout. Sallis has always been a receiving threat for Creekview but he has worked hard to diversify his skillset as a tight end and he has bought into the idea of being an all-around tight end over the last couple of years. He finished the 2020 season with 34 receptions for 605 yards and 10 TDs in 8 games. We are not expecting the Aggies to take a second tight end but if they do, he is a guy to watch and as Billy mentioned his stock is on the rise. Minnesota, Maryland, and UConn offered in February and Florida State, Texas, and Clemson are among those who have stepped up their interest. On Sunday the Under Armour Camp comes to Texas and there are going to be several Texas A&M targets in attendance. Five commitments will be on hand with TE Donovan Green, OL Hunter Erb, OL PJ Williams, CB Bobby Taylor, and DE Anthony James (2023) all representing Texas A&M. In regards to targets keep an eye on the trenches. In addition to the commits, targets Kelvin Banks, Kam Dewberry, Neto Umeozulu, Cole Hutson, Jaylen Early, Devon Campbell, Johnny Dickson, Harris Sewell (2023), and Isaiah Robinson (2023) will all be in attendance. On the defensive line Bear Alexander, Jadon Scarlett, Ernest Cooper IV, Derrick Brown, Jordan Renaud (2023), David Hicks (2023), and Avion Carter (2023) join commit Anthony James. The secondary will also be one to watch with several key targets in attendance. CB Bobby Taylor is dealing with a knee which has slowed him this spring so he may not workout, but Terrance Brooks, Bryce Anderson, Jarred Kerr, Jamel Johnson (2023), Javien Toviano (2023), and Daniel Demery (2023) each already hold scholarship offers and are key Texas A&M targets. At the offensive skill positions WR Jay Fair, RB Tavorus Jones, and Texas 2023 RB commit Rueben Owens join Texas A&M TE Donovan Green.Linebacker will also be well represented with targets Ish Harris, Kip Lewis, and Anthony Hill (2023) planning to be on hand for the action.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
