Expected unofficials and camp names to watch
The final piece to our 5 part June visitor overview takes a look at some of the key names to know that we are expecting to see in College Station throughout the entirety of the month of June as unofficial visitors and/or campers. First off, there are going to be many more names come to campus than we have listed here. There's no way to get a grasp of every single D1 prospect that will be coming to camps. The unofficial visitors are a bit easier to get a hold of, but we'll likely be missing a handful of names, plus or minus. With that said, here's what we've been able to gather so far. It's still a pretty extensive list. If we've got dates of the visits, I'll add those as well. Notes on some sleepers and underclassmen
Yesterday at the Trench Bulliez Camp a couple of 2022 sleepers caught my attention. The first is Rogelio Carreon. The 6-5, 305-pound tackle was the most dominating tackle at the event, and he did not lose a rep. Great feet, flexibility and explosion. He is flying under the radar since he is from smalltown Jal (NM). I have heard he is on Texas A&M's radar, and I could see him being a legitimate Texas A&M target. He currently has offers from Illinois State, Nevada, and New Mexico but I bet that changes over time. One more thing, he also has a great nickname, the Great Wall of New Mexico.Another sleeper to watch is Houston (TX) CE King center prospect Van Wells. He checks in at 6-1.5, 300-pounds, but he has long arms, quick feet, and a powerful base. He gets great hand placement, sets and drives and was one of the top athletes on either side of the ball. He has tight end, defensive end, and a basketball background. The highlight tape is also very impressive. He has received some interest from the Aggies along with Oklahoma State, and Washington, and he holds offers from UTSA and Nevada. There were several standout underclassmen, I could see emerging on Texas A&M's radar. DeSoto 2024 DE Caleb Mitchell already has people talking about him as the next big d-lineman out of DeSoto. He started some as a freshman which is incredibly rare for the Eagles and he is already picking up offers and he is on the Aggies radar. Port Arthur Memorial 2023 OL Cayden Bowie was the most impressive underclassman lineman. The frame and feet at 6-4, 255 are going to catch a lot of attention. He did not have any problems handling business yesterday. I see him as a P5 prospect, and a guy who could definitely make a push up the 2023 list when it comes time to rank those guys.A new name to my radar was Clear Falls 2023 DE Serigne Tounkara (Sir-reen). The 6-3, 240-pound defender was the most physically imposing of the underclassmen DL prospects. He definitely passed the eyeball test and then he showed he was a disruptive force in one-on-ones. The only one-on-one I saw him lose was to Bowie and he also won his far share against the PA Memorial OT. I see him as a definite P5 prospect and could see him being a guy the Aggies like a lot down the road.The twitchiest guy off the edge was 2023 Frisco Memorial DE Kennedy McDowell. His first step immediately puts OLs on their heels and he is quick to cut the corner and get to the QB. He is light in the seat right now, but his length and twitch cannot be taught. I profiled several months ago and you guys may remember his uncle is Mookie Blaylock. His twin brother is also a standout centerfielder. So there's plenty of athleticism in his genes.North Dallas 2023 DT Joseph Oluwayemi also showed strong. At 6-2, 265 he already has some nice size, and he does not have much fat on that frame either. He was very raw, but his power and explosion were quick to draw attention. He is also a varsity basketball player and that always gets my attention.Down in the 2024 class North McKinney DE Zion Carter and Arlington Oakridge DT Corre'ion Thomas turned heads. Carter stands in at 6-1, 210 and is also a tight end. I saw him last summer where he was running routes so it was good to see him spend the entire camp coming off the edge. His family has some strong athletic bloodlines his cousin is Creekview TE Sean Sallis and I know of at least a few family members in the past who played college ball. Corre'ion Thomas, also known as Tank, was one of the most dominating DTs regardless of class. This is the second time I have seen him and both times he made short work of the top upperclassmen OLs. He is only 5-9, so we will watch his growth, but if this kid hits 6-1, he is a no doubt national prospect. He is quick and explosive, and he only has one speed. Now for a quick recruiting note, the Aggies are focused on wrapping up the 2021 class and beginning the 2022 class, but could the 2023 class also start here in the near future? Wylie East DE Anthony James has made more than a few posts hinting at a possible commitment decision soon. He did not say when and honestly, it would not surprise me if he decided to hold off for now. I have heard from sources in Dallas the Aggies have positioned themselves well if it does happen. Texas is another school to watch, and he also holds offers from Virginia Tech, Arizona State, Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia, LSU and Utah. Not only would he be an intriguing addition at 6-5, 235, but he is also close to several guys in the 2022 and 2023 class. When we last spoke to him he spoke of bonds with Denton Ryan's Bear Alexander and Anthony Hill to mention a few.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
