Wednesday night recruiting notes
The staff continues to search for offensive line options in the 2022 class. With two big commits already in the boat in Hunter Erb and PJ Williams, I would say Kam Dewberry, Kelvin Banks, Neto Umeozulu. and Devon Campbell are top priority guys, and Duncanville's Jaylen Early is in the mix as well. An out of state name I've been hearing more and more is Alpharetta (GA) King's Ridge Christian OL Dayne Shor. The 6-6, 300-pound standout recently put the Aggies in his top 10, and he has talked about taking an official visit to College Station in the past. I've heard some buzz surrounding Alabama and Oklahoma recently with Georgia coming on as well, but some Georgia-area sources have told me the Aggies are also right there in the mix.https://twitter.com/DayneShor11/status/1382469077298466817?s=20We're also seeing that next tier of o-linemen continue to grow and a new name I've heard on Texas A&M's radar has been Austin Akins OL Nikolas Hall. I would put Hall in that next group with the likes of Cole Hutson, Johnny Dickson, Timi Gagophien, and Connor Robertson right now. He is a big OT at 6-5, 290 with some very nice junior film, and he has been impressive in a few camp stops this spring. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/11459427/5fcaf4e2bed716046c9722c7 The Aggies extended a new DL offer this week to Owasso (OK) DL Chris McClellan and he has a Zoom meeting planned with the staff for this week. He was excited to receive the offer and he said there is a real possibility he visits in the future. Madison (MS) Madison-Ridgeland LB Stone Blanton announced his top seven tonight with the Aggies making the cut. Coach Santucci has been recruiting him for a couple of years now and the Aggies continue to build a strong relationship there. You can expect baseball to also play a big role in his decision considering he is a top prospect on the baseball diamond and he is currently a Mississippi State baseball commit. In addition to Texas A&M and Mississippi State he listed Ole Miss, Louisville, Oregon, Stanford, and South Carolina as his top choices. He has already started setting up some official visits and I could definitely see him making a trip to Aggieland in the future.https://twitter.com/Stoneblanton7/status/1382468101376196608?s=20The Aggies are known to tap into the northeast every now and then and in the 2021 class the Aggies tapped into Philadelphia (PA) Northeast for a couple of defensive targets. Today the Aggies extended an offer to 2023 DE Kion Wright. At 6-2, 220 Wright is a guy to watch off the edge. He is well versed about coach Elijah Robinson and the Texas A&M program and he was excited about the opportunity. He said both Elijah Jeudy and Tyreek Chappell have also educated him about the dawg-like mentality it takes to be a part of the Texas A&M defense.
