Expected unofficials and camp names to watch
The final piece to our 5 part June visitor overview takes a look at some of the key names to know that we are expecting to see in College Station throughout the entirety of the month of June as unofficial visitors and/or campers. First off, there are going to be many more names come to campus than we have listed here. There's no way to get a grasp of every single D1 prospect that will be coming to camps. The unofficial visitors are a bit easier to get a hold of, but we'll likely be missing a handful of names, plus or minus. With that said, here's what we've been able to gather so far. It's still a pretty extensive list. If we've got dates of the visits, I'll add those as well. Winter wonderland recruiting notes
I'm trying to get these posted in between blackouts but the news has to be delivered regardless of the conditions.First, I am not going to lie, I was pretty excited to see Dallas Parish Episcopal 2023 S Daniel Demery receive an offer. He is a uniquely gifted guy on and off the field. At 6-foot-1, 190, he is one of the top 2023 DBs in the state and he is really smart on the field and off. In addition to being a 2-year starter and a member of the leadership council of the football team, he is also the captain of Parish Episcopal's robotics team. He has a strong interest in engineering and he has a high GPA to go with it. I just spoke with him and engineering, academics, and life after football are a high priority when it comes to his college decision and he knows those are all three pluses for Texas A&M. He plans to take a virtual visit to Texas A&M in the very near future and the Aggies are a program of high interest. In addition to the academic side, he really liked the leadership and team play he saw from Texas A&M this fall. We'll have more on Demery later. The Aggies also extended an offer to Lewisville 2023 DL Jordan Renaud. He played last fall at Palmetto (FL) and moved to Lewisville this semester. Go ahead and put him down on the list as a guy to watch. Texas A&M offered last night and Texas offered this morning, and you can bet many more are on the way. If you are wondering what kind of player he is, here's a look at him against Miami Central from this fall. https://twitter.com/DBWilson2/status/1337571334721777667?s=20This weekend I had a chance to watch a number of underclassmen and several caught my eye. I had the opportunity to see a couple of top DFW QBs over the weekend and both were impressive. Justin Northwest 2023 QB Jake Strong is a guy I have seen a number of times now and he always throws a good crisp ball and he gets it out of his hand in a hurry. He has emerged on Texas A&M's radar as a guy to watch in recent weeks and he is definitely up there in terms of the top QBs in the class. Saturday did not disappoint, throwing with touch and accuracy. His recruitment has yet to take off but he has several college coaches watching him.https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/1360666409173409802?s=20A new guy to the area, but one who has quickly turned heads is Flower Mound Marcus 2024 QB Cole Welliver. He moved in from Washington and at 6-6, 200 he stands tall and he has a big arm. He can also throw with touch and comes from the Northwest already holding offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Florida Atlantic, and Washington State.https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/1360650338982838274?s=20A new guy who caught my is North Richland Hills Richland 2023 WR Ashton Cozart. I had heard the name before and saw some highlights but this was my first chance to see him in person. At 6-2, 180, he is a smooth route runner with quick feet, change of direction, and body control. He is already turning heads with offers from Arizona State, Kansas, Maryland, Miami, and Mississippi State. Of the receivers his overall performance stood out to me.https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/1360659603088957441?s=20Longview 2023 WR Jalen Hale was there and he definitely looked the part. He checks all the boxes, but he did not go through the whole workout since he is also in the middle of basketball season. In fact, he was coming off a big game Friday night when I saw him Saturday morning in Dallas. He already has an offer from the Aggies and he has established himself as one of the top prospects in 2023. Haynes King has been talking to him and the two have a strong bond after teaming up at Longview in 2019. https://twitter.com/hayden_h/status/1360398308200636416?s=20A couple of new names for me who caught my attention were 6-3, 205-pound Rockwall 2023 WR Noble Johnson and 6-foot, 200-pound Keller Fossil Ridge 2023 RB Landen Chambers. Both are big, physical guys, but they both impressed me with how fluid they moved during the session. Chambers, particularly looked very natural turning to make receptions. I'll be interested to see how these two grow and develop over the next few years. https://twitter.com/Jason_Howell/status/1360665990024069120?s=20

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
