Defensive recruiting notes - Sunday afternoon
As I prodded around for Kaine Williams intel (check the other stickied thread for the latest there), I was able to stumble upon a few more pieces of intel regarding A&M's pursuit of defensive back prospects. - Doesn't sound like anything has changed in terms of A&M's priority pursuit of Deuce Harmon. Jason has been and will continue to be all over that one, but it's always good when our sources are saying the same thing. - I wouldn't write off Katy CB Hunter Washington just yet. It sounds like A&M remains in contact. My gut says Oklahoma may hold the advantage though based on what I've been told. - We mentioned Lackawanna CC CB De'Jahn Warren last week, and I had a source tell me again today that he remains A&M's top junior college target. Texas A&M made his top 11 last week. - By piecing together what I'm hearing from multiple folks, I still think A&M may try to ink 6 total in the defensive backfield. - Some out of state names at safety that continue to pop up in my conversations are Beggs (OK) standout Kendal Daniels, Tallahassee (FL) stars Ahmari Harvey and Terrion Arnold, multi-sport athlete Donovan McMillon from Canonsburg (PA), Miami (FL) Northwestern's Kamren Kinchens, I've also heard the Aggies continue to communicate with Tysheem Johnson out of Philadelphia (PA). - A&M offered Folsom (CA) CB Kaleb Higgins last summer after a stellar week of performances at the Aggies' camps in College Station. Originally from Austin and the younger brother of Stanford WR Eli Higgins, I feel like he's not been talked about enough when considering where the Aggies may go at corner in this class. A source out west told me today that Higgins and A&M still have a strong bond, and Kaleb could absolutely end up back in the Lone Star State to play his college ball. - Right now, I'd say the A&M board at corner includes these names (alphabetical):Tony Grimes Deuce Harmon Kaleb Higgins Ishmael Ibraheem Hunter Washington De'Jahn Warren ...and keep an eye on McKinnley Jackson's former teammate MJ Daniels. He's 6-3, 185 and many folks list him as an athlete, but I do know a lot of schools are kicking around the idea of him playing corner. The Aggies offered in February. He's currently committed to Ole Miss as a receiver.
