A few recruiting notes on a Wednesday afternoon
A few notes from around the Texas A&M recruiting front. First things first, the NCAA has extended the recruiting dead period through the end of May. https://twitter.com/InsidetheNCAA/status/1245450773590409222?s=20This is not a real surprising development, but this does mean no in person evaluations and no official or unofficial visits until June at the earliest. **********The Aggies have been busy in the northeast with coach Elijah Robinson putting a couple of offers on the table to some standout underclassmen. The most recent is an offer to Philadelphia (PA) Bishop McDevitt 2023 LB Semaj Bridgeman. https://twitter.com/MAJ7___/status/1245445959653502976?s=20"I was honored and excited to receive another SEC offer," Bridgeman said. The 6-2, 220-pound backer said the first thing about the Texas A&M program that comes to mind is the Aggie's dominant defense. He has not been able to communicate coach Robinson but he received the news of the offer from his head coach at Bishop McDevitt. In addition to Texas A&M, he has also received offers from Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Iowa State, Maryland, Ole Miss, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, and West Virginia.https://www.hudl.com/video/3/13138461/5dc441270c5e660d28baa9b8Texas A&M also offered Philadelphia (PA) Northeast 2022 DE Ken Talley. We already posted an update on him, and it's a pretty good little read if I do say so myself. Click here to check that out. He planned to visit at the end of March before the dead period canceled it. He hopes to make it to College Station for a visit and is intrigued. The Aggies also received some good news today as Fort Washington (MD) National Christian Academy DE Monkell Goodwine included the Aggies in his top 5 along with Maryland, Penn State, LSU, and Alabama. The Aggies have been high on Goodwine's list since he visited in the fall and it certainly does not hurt the Aggies' chances that his National Christian Academy teammate and friend Joshuah Moten enrolled at A&M in January. ************The Aggies also made a few more recent top prospect lists. Yesterday, East St. Louis (IL) 2021 WR Keontez Lewis listed the Aggies on his top list. He is close with current Aggie Antonio Johnson and he planned to visit for the spring game before it was canceled.https://twitter.com/Nolimitk3/status/1245144588882522112?s=20Orlando (FL) Boone DL Shambre Jackson also included Texas A&M in his recent list of top schoolshttps://twitter.com/JacksonShambre/status/1245377380509782017?s=20***********I recently caught up with Opelousas (LA) Opelousas Catholic WR Keon Coleman. He is playing in the Texas A&M Madden tournament. He said it is the most unique recruiting tool he's seen so far, and he's having a good time."It's good bonding and it's a lot of fun."The Aggies have made a strong impression early on in the process and he says the Aggies are joined by Kentucky, Florida State, Memphis, and Michigan State as those showing the strongest interest.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
