A few notes on some key prospects - Updated, more on Anthony Hill
There's been a lot out there on Marlin (TX) LB Derion Gullette and his recruitment. He did take an OV to Texas and he had a great time and the Longhorns are definitely a factor in his recruitment. However, the Aggies remain very involved and are of high interest to Gullette according to my sources. He slipped in to College Station under the radar for an unofficial visit earlier this summer and the Aggies remain in close contact. The injury has not slowed his recruitment. I'm told to look for a decision late this summer. Speaking of prospects generating a lot of smoke I talked to a DFW source and Anthony Hill has been in close communication with the Texas A&M staff and I'm hearing the Aggies continue to be of high interest and he still plans to visit at the end of July. He has changed the July visit from an unofficial to an official visit.Staying home 💯 pic.twitter.com/Y79UTN5y5Y— Anthony Hill Jr (@thegoatanthony1) June 29, 2022
I also did some checking on Malik Muhammad. There has been some real strong Texas vibes thrown out into interwebs and that's from both coaches and reporters. Things really seemed to kick up a notch after Billy Walton's commitment, and Malik's tweet "Whole world been waiting on this" got plenty of attention late last night including my own. However, I continue to hear the Aggies are in a strong position. Despite the confidence out of Austin, I'm told the programs currently in the SEC hold the edge. We'll see how it all shakes out but I wouldn't count out the Aggies at this point.

A couple of quick notes
Malik Muhammad was in town for a few days, and the the Aggies continue to have a strong presence. Right now it looks like A&M, Texas, and Alabama are locked into a three-team race. The Aggies have been high on his list throughout and he has a strong bond with coach Rushing. The Aggies also have teammate Jayvon Thomas in his ear. It was another productive visit for the Aggies and he already had an OV locked in for July 29 before the weekend.Peyton Bowen made the trip with his mom and brother Eli. As I said yesterday, it sounds like the Aggies continue to make some good headway with the Notre Dame commit. I was also told both Peyton and Eli left a strong impression on the coaching staff in the way they carry themselves and with their football intelligence. The Aggies have yet to offer Eli, a 2024 CB, but he is firmly on the radar.
