Just to follow up on our pre-weekend updates...Point guard Shakeel Moore was originally scheduled to visit this weekend, but from the information we gathered, his visit was canceled prior to the weekend.Arguably A&M's top guard target on the board, Hassan Diarra, did visit College Station this weekend. From everything we've heard, the visit went very well and A&M is very high on his priority list. He did not publicly commit, although three Rivals.com basketball analysts (including lead national analyst Eric Bossi) did put in futurecasts for Texas A&M over the weekend. A 247 analyst did the same with his crystal ball prediction on Friday.6-foot-4 Louisiana guard LaDamien Bradford also took his official visit and from all indications his visit went extremely well. A&M was thought to have the inside track going into the visit, and nothing we've heard from the weekend changes that thought process. With all this "good news" on the surface, neither prospect publicly committed. We'll see what happens during the week, but we are just three weeks away from the early signing period so we are coming to the end of the cycle and commit announcements will start to flood in for the 2020 class.As I mentioned in Friday's update, the Aggies are still very much involved with highly-rated post man Javonte Brown-Ferguson . In a perfect world, I think the staff would take a class of Diarra, Bradford, commit Hayden Hefner , and Brown-Ferguson and call it a day if that was possible. We'll see. A&M is battling Kansas and other top programs for the big man, but A&M has close ties to the Canadian prospect and there is an A&M crystal ball prediction at 247.A reminder...we're only 2+ weeks from the first exhibition game at Reed (Nov. 1) and the regular season tips off on Nov. 6.

I know hoops recruiting info. has been spotty, but the new staff runs a tight ship and not even the national pundits are getting many details regarding the upcoming 2020 class. We are currently in the heat of the official visit season leading up to the early signing period in early November. And while the entire picture is still foggy, there are a few data points out there we can report and summarize.As you may or may not know, A&M has one confirmed verbal commit Hayden Hefner.I have confirmed 100% one 2020 official visitor will be in town, point guard Shakeel Moore. He texted me last night to say he's indeed planning to be in College Station this weekend.While I have not confirmed directly, point guard Hassan Diarra and small forward Chris Moore have told other services that they expect to take their official visit to Texas A&M this weekend. FYI, Shakeel Moore is a high three-star and a Top 150-170 national prospect. Chris Moore is a mid-four-star prospect and a Top 80-90 national recruit. Diarra is the highest-rated of the three as a four-star Top 60-70 national prospect. It should be noted that Diarra has only one 247 crystal ball prediction, and that prediction is Texas A&M. This will also be Diarra's last official visit, having just visited both Indiana and Georgia. Indiana seems to be the stiffest competition. Shakeel Moore has one more official visit after his trip to A&M this weekend. He'll be at Ole Miss on October 18. He is also looking heavily at Providence, and the Friars have a couple of crystal ball predictions. He visited Providence on September 14.Chris Moore visits Auburn on November 1 for his final official trip after this weekend in College Station. He's from West Memphis, AR and most pundits feel as of today that Arkansas and Memphis are the odds-on favorites to land him.Outside of this weekend's visitors, the other big-time target is Javonte Brown-Ferguson who visited A&M on September 20. He attended the infamous Kansas Mignight Madness and the Snoop Dogg performance last week. He did not commit on the visit. The big issue here is whether Brown-Ferguson decides to reclassify to 2020 which has been speculated. If he does, the Aggies are the odds-on favorite. If he waits, A&M will lose its advantage. He's from Canada and played on the same squad as Cassius McNeilly, and we know the extensive ties A&M assistant coach James McNeilly has with Canadian prospects and the Canadian junior national team. He's a long-armed, 6-foot-11 athletic shot blocker whose stock really took off this summer...enough to get the attention of Kansas and others. A&M currently has the only two crystal ball predictions so far.A fast-rising guard prospect, Keishon Porter, tweeted over the weekend that he will be announcing his commit later today. He lists his three finalists - Radford, Hampton, Texas A&M. I have found evidence that he did officially visit Radford and Hampton. I can't find that he's visited College Station this fall. He was offered by A&M after he won the MVP of the HoopSeen Tip-Off in March. He was also named to the "Best of the South Top Performer Team." I can't confirm if his offer is committable at this point, but his name only came up this one time. We'll see. The staff just offered a redshirt freshman JUCO prospect, Marial Mading, who transferred from Rhode island. He was at the Kansas Midnight Madness event last week. There's no available information on any trips to Texas A&M. As of now, the Aggies have only two seniors and one scholarship unused. Plus, there's a decent chance that Savion Flagg may go pro after the season, and then I'm sure there will be at least one transfer. So we're probably looking at a 2020 class of 4-5. If Flagg comes back and all players with eligibility after 2020 stay, then that would result in a small class of three spots. In all likelihood, that number will probably be 4-5. This is nowhere close to a definitive recruiting update, but at least it gives you some data points and a road map heading into the last month of visits before the early signing period.FYI, there will be plenty of 2021 and 2022 prospects for the Alabama game.
