Big Hoops Official Visitor This Weekend
Big-time 7-footer Javonte Brown-Ferguson has just arrived on-campus for his official visit. He's another high level Canadian prospect that is now at powerhouse Mount Saint Joseph in Baltimore. We have him rated as a medium four-star recruit and he's a consensus Top 100 player nationally. He just turned 17, but his recruitment absolutely exploded with some great performances in the summer season. He's very long with arms that go forever, but the turning point was his added strength and starting to fill out. He was impressive enough to have Bill Self visit him and he's taking a Kansas visit on October 4. Indiana, UConn, and Purdue among others are involved. There is a connection to A&M. Before leaving for Baltimore, Brown-Ferguson played at Thornlea Secondary outside of Toronto which is where A&M signee Cashius McNeilly played his ball. They also played together on the Canada Elite AAU team, and of course Cashius' uncle is Texas A&M assistant coach Jamie McNeilly. The big news here is that Javonte is a high school junior eligibility-wise, but about the time he announced his official visit to A&M he said he's looking at reclassifying from the 2021 class to the 2020 class. If you recall, McNeilly also reclassified last year to immediately join the Aggies. And finally, within the last three days, A&M has received two crystal ball picks. That doesn't mean he's a done deal by any means with Kansas and Indiana still on the official visit schedule, but the information is lining up in the Aggies' favor.I could only find one good highlight clip and it's from early 2018 so it's very dated. He's much heavier now, but you can see his very long wingspan.Texas A&M official visit today— Javonte Brown-Ferguson (@lanxxjay) September 20, 2019
JUCO forward Atticus Taylor's plan comes into focus after visiting A&M
After one season at Southwest Mississippi Community College, versatile stretch forward Atticus Taylor is more than intrigued by new A&M head coach Buzz Williams and the Aggies. David Sandhop caught up with Taylor after his first visit to College Station.
