Aggie hoops adds Huntsville, Alabama forward Kobe Brown to 2019 class
Billy Kennedy and the A&M basketball program received good news on signing day, as Kobe Brown, a top five player in the state of Alabama, chose the Aggies over Auburn, West Virginia and other major programs. Brown is a 6'7" forward with legitimate ball skills.
Quick Recruiting Hoops Note
A&M's most highly rated remaining target, Drew Timme, will be taking an official visit to Alabama this weekend. This will be his third official visit. He's still planning to sign in the early signing period in early November. Going into the visit, pundits still feel A&M is the odds-on-favorite but their confidence level is not high since Timme doesn't talk much to services.A&M's other target, Kobe Brown, will be taking an official visit to Minnesota this weekend. People close to the program feel they hit it out of the park with him this weekend in College Station, but we'll see how he feels when he returns from way up north in the land of a thousand lakes.
Another Official Hoops Visitor This Weekend
I reported a few days ago that 2019 small forward Kobe Brown will be in College Station this weekend. The staff will also have at least one more official visitor, Class of 2020 shooting guard Bryce Thompson. He's a junior from Booker T. Washington HS in Tulsa and he's rated anywhere from No. 50 to No. 70 nationally as a solid 4-star prospect.Kansas, OU, Colorado, and OSU are also involved. He took his first official visit to CU in September. He took an unofficial visit to Kansas last weekend. Coach Kennedy has some contacts and advantages in his relationship with Thompson and his family. Will it be enough? It's too early to tell. But from what I've been told, A&M is not just a token visit. There is legitimate interest. In watching his film, he reminds me of a lankier Admon Gilder. They both have that quick, set-shot 3-point stroke...but Thompson also has a pull-up jumper. He would be a great pick-up for the staff. But he's only a junior.
A Few Hoops Recruiting Nuggets
Texas A&M's top remaining target, Drew Timme, will be taking his second official visit to Gonzaga this weekend. Pundits have increasing felt more and more confident that he will eventually pick the Aggies...but that's obviously before this visit to Spokane.
