A few recruiting notes for your Wednesday evening
-The Aggies are squarely in the mix for Folsom (CA) RB Daniyel Ngata and he is eyeing an August decision. He also has Clemson (where his brother Joe just enrolled), Oklahoma State, Arizona State, and Utah in his top five, but he has used his only official visit to Texas A&M. His OV to College Station may not stay his only visit before he decides though, he hopes to visit Oklahoma State and Arizona State during the July quiet period (July 25-31). If I had to make a prediction I would lean towards the Aggies, but I'm not ready to call this for the Aggies just yet. -There is a lot of LSU momentum right now with Baton Rouge (LA) University Lab DT Jaquelin Roy. After his official visit to Texas A&M there was a lot of talk about A&M and Alabama holding an edge, but as his July 26 decision date grows closer the momentum seems more and more in favor of the one-time LSU commit staying at home. It is just hard to pull a Baton Rouge prospect away from LSU, especially this early in the game. My gut has been telling me LSU even since his visit, and I think that's what happens on decision day.-Tomorrow (Thursday) Lanett (AL) ATH Kristian Story will announce his decision between Texas A&M and Alabama, and there has been confidence on both sides of this one as the decision approaches. However, after checking with a few more sources on this one things are trending more and more in Alabama's direction. I said it earlier today, but based on what I'm hearing I predict the Crimson Tide to add him to their commitment list.

Ten Thoughts: New Aggie commitments, out of state recruiting & more
The Aggies made two big recruiting splashes on Sunday after landing commitments from DT Isaiah Raikes and RB Deondre Jackson, and Jimbo Fisher and Company have big plans for rounding out the 2020 class and beyond.

Notes on a few upcoming visitors
- Smyrna (TN) DT Dallas Walker should be getting into town tomorrow. I heard from a source today that he's over 290 pounds and has Elijah Robinson and Terry Price pretty intrigued. There's some common ground between he and A&M as well through Ikenna Okeke who came out of Smyrna in 2017. - Roanoke (VA) CB Joseph Johnson will be in town tomorrow, as well. He's not a name we've heard a lot about, but I can tell you this, the Aggies are entering the weekend some real momentum from what we've been able to gather. Once committed to NC State, Johnson's stock has risen pretty substantially of late. In fact, we were told that both Penn St and Ohio St were working to convince him not to trip to Aggieland, or if he was, to adjust the weekends so that they could get their hands on him first. Regardless, he'll be in College Station tomorrow for an official visit. It should also be noted that when Johnson set up the visit, a source near 2021 Virginia stud Tony Grimes called Johnson to tell him about what a great experience they had in Aggieland each time they've been in-town. An east coast source tells us that the Aggies have a legitimate chance to put the clamps on this recruitment this weekend - which, even if you follow this stuff closely, would seem out of the blue, but remember what kind of staff you have running the show, now. Nothing can be counted out until signing day. - The national, big name visitor is still being kept tight lipped although I did receive some confidence today that the trip would happen. When we get notified with concrete evidence, we'll release the name. - Things continue to trend positively with A&M and Ft Bend Austin WR Troy Omeire. The reason I'm including him in this post is because a south Houston source called me today and said there's an ever so slight chance Troy could head back up to College Station soon. My source wasn't specific on it being this weekend, and I'm certainly not expecting it, but it wasn't ruled therefore it is something we'll monitor. - Staying at WR, in case you missed my note yesterday, A&M Consolidated WR Devin Price will be taking his official visit to Texas A&M this weekend. He was scheduled to go through the paces at camp too, but he injured his right thumb in a 7 on 7 practice which will keep him from participating tomorrow. - The last of the four official visitors is Kristian Story out of Lanett, Alabama. He's an interesting prospect. At 6-1, 205, he could honestly excel at a lot of positions on the football field. He plays quarterback, but a lot of industry folks see him as a wide receiver or running back. He's versatile to do either, in my opinion. I'll be interested to check around with some people on the other side of the weekend to see where A&M sees him as a best fit for them. - Lastly, CyRidge DE Vernon Broughton stuck around for an extra day today. He did not participate in camp, but he did spend some time chatting with Demond Demas and some of the A&M players. His upcoming visit lineup is interesting - LSU OV this weekend, Ohio State next weekend, and Texas A&M to close things out. Arkansas and Texas are generally thought of as the co-leaders here, but all three of the Tigers, Buckeyes, and Aggies are certainly legitimate threats. - Re-checked with some sources today and got it reaffirmed that Manor's Princely Umanmielen and Bastrop Cedar Creek's Alfred Collins would both be in College Station. The only question was what day each would be coming to town. There's a chance one is tomorrow, and one is Saturday. There's also a possibility that they ride together on Saturday. I don't think the A&M coaches will care as long as both show up at the Bright Football Complex.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
