He did some drills on Wednesday and was very impressive. There was quite a bit of Arkansas momentum coming off his OV, but it is safe to say his Aggie stock is as high as ever. Based on intel we have Broughton is one of three in-state DL targets along with Alfred Collins and Princely Umanmielen. The Aggies will receive his final official visit. -DeSoto 2021 DE Shemar Turner put the Aggies in his top three after receiving his offer. He's still taking his time with the process, but the Aggies made a big impression.-Kenneth Phillips called the Aggies a dream school after receiving his offer and I have to say it looks very promising for the Aggies. He will return soon for an official visit. He is close friends with Texas A&M signee Erick Young as well was a teammate with Pro Process Academy and Fort Bend Bush.-New Caney 2021 LB Derrick Harris said Texas A&M was a school "I always wanted to go to since I was little." after receiving his offer.-Demond Demas is locked in, and he was doing some recruiting. The same with Jaylon Jones and I'm sure Bankhead was as well. After camp on Thursday Demas spent a lot time time playing catch with Quinn Ewers which I thought was a promising note. Tuesday recruiting scattershot
-Let's start with yesterday's visitors Javonne Shepherd and Demond Demas from North Forest. The two came into town with Rischad Whitfield (Footwork King) and spent the day with the entire A&M coaching and recruiting staff. They toured various parts of campus and even got to speak with Scott Woodward. I've been told Shepherd has become much more open to the Aggies in recent weeks, and that was only pushed further along by his visit yesterday. He met with Jimbo Fisher, Jim Turner, and Lee Grimes extensively, and, from what I know, discussed at length the real possibility of him playing football at Texas A&M. I think you'll see Shep back on campus for either Ole Miss or LSU, but I'm told it's likely that the official visit won't happen until December and will likely coincide with a Kenyon Green visit. As for Demas, he'll visit Ohio State this coming weekend. This recruitment is going to have its twists and turns. There's no reason to get too worked up over one visit to any school - A&M or otherwise. It's worth noting too that Demas has been to more practices than games at A&M. Whitfield tweeted last week about the importance of watching practice for recruits compared to only seeing games. Seems like he's making sure Demas sees as many practices in College Station as possible. -After doing some more digging early this week, I remain confident in saying that if 2020 North Shore RB Zach Evans were to pick a school today, it'd be Texas A&M. However, I don't expect to see Evans make a decision any time soon. He and his family met with Coach Fisher for over an hour this past Saturday. -Spoke to two sources about Ft Myers (FL) DE Derick Hunter's official visit last weekend. Simply put, Hunter, his father, and cousin were blown away by what they saw currently in College Station and what the vision is for the future. A Florida source told me that the Aggies are now a legitimate threat to flip Hunter from his pledge to Florida St, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him back on campus before NSD. The Aggies are recruiting Hunter to play that strong side end position. Coming into the weekend, I wasn't sure what to make of the legitimacy of the interest from both parties. Coming out of the weekend, it sounds to me like there's a real chance that Hunter finds his way into this class. -If there's one 2021 name I could see making a commitment to A&M at any point in the near future, it'd be either Katy Tompkins DE Tunmise Adeleye or Katy Taylor OL Bryce Foster. Both kids have been completely blown away by their visits to College Station and have expressed to numerous folks how much they feel A&M is the right fit. I'll be out to see Adeleye on Thursday when Tompkins plays Mayde Creek. -If I were a betting man, I'd put money on 2020 Clear Creek OL Chad Lindberg landing at Texas. His brother goes to school there, and the family seems comfortable having both their boys in Austin. So, who becomes remaining target number one in that in state class? From what I hear from my southeast Texas people, PNG's Jaylen Garth has made a huge move up the A&M priority list. I've also been told recently that folks close to Garth would love to see him in Aggieland. Bama and Texas remain the biggest competitors. -Two new names to get familiar with if you're an A&M recruiting fan in an increasingly impressive 2021 OL class are Waller's Augustus Rice and Denton Guyer's Knox Boyd. Both kids are getting early evals by the heavy hitters in the region, including A&M. -A Houston area source tells me that A&M will be in town next week to see top rush edge target David Ugwoegbu take on Katy. However, Ugwoegbu won't be the only guy the Aggies watch. They'll also be keeping tabs on 2020 Seven Lakes DT Tiago Sumbo, a powerful kid who impressed a lot of the defensive staff this summer when he camped at A&M. Sumbo feels like a kid that could get hot in terms of offers as soon as one school makes that first move. The Aggies would have an excellent chance at landing him should they offer, and the remain in the cat bird's seat with Ugwoegbu. Oklahoma will use their pass rushing issues as a way to indicate Ugwoegbu could come in and contribute immediately.

We'll pin this all week so keep checking back in to see the alterations. I'm sure Jason will come in with confirmations or non-confirmations from DFW soon.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
