Miscellaneous recruiting quick hitters - Thursday
I've been hitting the phone and texts lines the last couple of days, and I've been able to grab some interesting intel from a few of A&M's offers and prospects of interest.- Magnolia OL Matthew Wykoff released his top 7 today which included the Aggies. Wykoff told me today that he will make trips to College Station this spring to watch practice, but he does not have any dates ironed out just yet. He's also not decided which 5 of those 7 will receive officials, but my gut says the Ags will get one. The other schools in the mix are Texas, Auburn, Penn State, Texas Tech, Arizona State, and USC. - Recently offered 2022 Katy DE Malick Sylla continues to surge up a lot of big boards across the region. Sylla told me he will visit Texas A&M on April 6th. I'd bet that trip includes either one of fellow teammates Ty Kana or Bobby Taylor, as well. - I wrote about Atascocita TE Landen King as an unoffered name to watch in my long form recruiting piece last week. Well, I spoke with King, and he told me he's been having good conversations with both James Coley and Darrell Dickey. He said he'd really like the Aggies to pull the trigger with an offer, and that Coach Dickey has talked about the possibility of an offer with him. The 6-5, 220 pounder picked up four Power 5 offers in February. - No return visit plans just yet for Ft Bend Ridge Point WR John Paul Richardson, but JP did say he'd come up as soon as Coach Dickey gave him a date. - I spoke with new safety offer Donovan McMillon from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, for a bit last night. He was really excited that A&M went ahead and made the move. He told he would be sitting down with his family very soon to schedule a visit. He's never been to Texas before, "but I heard everything is big down there," he told me. He was looking forward to seeing campus and getting a hold of some TexMex and BBQ. He was also planning on checking out Terry Price's cookout videos on Twitter. The 6-2, 190 pounder holds nearly 40 offers with Power 5 programs like Michigan, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Virginia Tech being among those.- Lastly, I received a text on TexAgs Radio this week about A&M's chances in OL Landon Tengwall out of Maryland. It doesn't sound like there's any real current interest on either side there.
A&M makes recruiting statement at DeMatha Catholic by extending several offers
Jimbo Fisher and his staff made a big splash in recruiting during year one. Now the Aggies are looking to establish a pipeline in Maryland with several highly touted prospects at DeMatha Catholic High School.
