Recruiting never rests in the state of Texas, and there has been plenty of activity over the last few weeks. It is time to dive right into the latest news, notes, and whatever else is happening on the recruiting trail around the state.

The Texas A&M coaching staff hosted somewhere upwards of 35 high school prospects by my estimation this weekend. We had live threads on Saturday and Sunday, but I wanted to pull out some of the bigger pieces of info to sort of put a bow on the weekend. Baylor Cupp commitsObviously, the pledge of Brock TE Baylor Cupp was the top takeaway from the last couple of days. Here's a kid who chose the Aggies over most of the top programs in America. He's also one of the best overall players in Texas and should get a nice bump in the next round of recruiting updates. What Tim Brewster has done to transform the tight end position since he's stepped on campus has been remarkable. It's a good bet that the Ags will add one more TE in this class, and if I'm betting, it'd be Dickinson's Jalen Wydermyer who was also in town on the weekend. New OffersA pair of new offers went out along the offensive line with long time eval Andrew Coker of Katy Taylor and rising 2020 PNG big man Jaylen Garth being the recipients.For Coker, this was a big deal. He had wanted the A&M offer for such a long time that I think it vaults the Aggies to the top and puts him on watch. The pipeline from Katy Taylor to Aggieland will also be a major factor here. Coker told me that the offer was a dream come true, and he is contemplating a decision timeline. The main competitor here is now TCU. Garth is a kid I first saw as a gangly freshman that struggled in the weight room but had a frame that made you believe he'd grow into a legitimate SEC caliber lineman. The Aggies were his first offer. From talking to some coaches in the Golden Triangle though, they certainly won't be his last. Garth didn't grow up with any favorites and is open to everyone right now. His QB, Roschon Johnson, is committed to Texas so it was good that the Ags offered first. The third offer to go out was to 2021 North Shore WR Shadrach Banks. He'll be one of the best skill position players in the country in his class and has already visited A&M a couple of times. Quick hitters on top targetsErick Young & Bobby Wolfe Probably the top two DB's in Houston took their officials to College Station this weekend, and by all accounts, the Aggies knocked this one out of the park. Coming out of the visit, I'd call the Aggies the heavy favorite. From what I've been told, the two remain as much of a package deal as any with the main competition being Oklahoma. I'm thinking early summer in terms of a decision from both of them. Kenyon Green The Atascocita OL was unable to make it on Saturday because of the ACT, but I did catch up with him at the Under Armour camp on Sunday. There's a ton of A&M buzz continuing to surround Kenyon, and the Aggies did a great job selling the Aggie network and his academic future in College Station during his last visit. He will make a decision after taking all of his official visits. David Gbenda The Aggies had some ground to make up with Gbenda heading into the weekend. From what I was told, there's still some work to be done, but folks in the know think the needle has jumped in a pretty significant way. I can tell you from talking to the Cinco Ranch LB that the energy and passion he now has for A&M is real. Texas and TCU are in the mix as well, but I could tell the developing Bond with Mike Elko, Bradley Dale Peveto, and Jimbo Fisher has Gbenda excited. He spoke at length about the Aggie network as well and said College Station made him feel like he was home. He said it felt very comfortable. Marcus Banks The Sping Dekaney CB made the drive up on Saturday and got to talk at length with perhaps A&M's most dynamic recruiter...signee Leon O'Neal. We all know what type of guy Leon is, and he clearly put some work in with Marcus. I feel better about A&M landing Wolfe and Young than I do with Banks, but by no means do I believe the Aggies are out of it. He said A&M stands out to him because they are able to be very specific about where he fits in their plans. LSU and Texas are the other top suitors.Marcus Stripling With his cousin Braedon Mowry already in the boat, many expected Strip to fall in line soon after. He visited A&M again on Saturday, but he didn't want to give too much away when I spoke to him on Sunday. He said, as of now, he plans on announcing on the early signing day. A lot of folks are comfortable calling the Aggies the leader currently though. He spoke very highly of Terry Price and said he can't wait to try some of his BBQ. DeMarvin Leal I'm sure by now you're all aware of the progress A&M made with the state's top DL out of Converse Judson. Coming into the weekend, many thought Texas had the slight edge. Coming out of the weekend, this recruitment appears to have turned on its ear, and the Aggies are now the clear leaders. Tim Brewster and Terry Price put in yoemen's work here. Be on the lookout.Other news & notes-It sounds like the A&M commits put in a lot of work with Aledo DB Jeffery Carter. Chase Lane told me he spent a lot of time with him on Saturday. If you're looking for who is next in the secondary, it may be 'Scooby'. -Speaking of Mowry, the Aggie commit took Home DL MVP honors at the Under Armour camp. His blend of speed and power was on full display. -A&M will get two out of state LB visitors this coming weekend in Myron Warren from Louisiana and Brandon Smith out of Virginia. Smith is considered one of the best in the country.-Staying out of state, Jason already posted a post visit article on Arizona DE Ty Robinson, but we've also heard there's a real chance that the best player in New York, DE Adisa Isaac had such a good time that he's strongly considering a return unofficial visit during the season. I'm not exactly sure where A&M will end up when it's all said and done at defensive end, but it sure looks like it'll be a pretty stout group.
