Offensive Grades: Texas A&M's 2019 & 2020 signing classes by position
During Monday's edition of TexAgs Radio, Billy Liucci joined to offer his thoughts on Texas A&M's offensive signees in the last two recruiting cycles as Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies have begun stacking elite talent in Jimbo's first two full classes.
Official visit excites OL signee Blake Trainor about his future in Aggieland
Hallsville OL Blake Trainor signed with Texas A&M in December, but he took his official visit over the weekend. After the visit, he sat down with TexAgs.com to discuss his visit, his future, and more.
Sunday recruiting quick hitters
-All official visitors have left campus. Some of the new signees are still hanging around throughout the evening though. Also, Chase Lane snuck in last night to hang out with his future teammates. Other signees on campus were Kenyon Green (official), Blake Trainor (official), Demani Richardson, and Dylan Wright.-I'll start with Javonne Shepherd. The basics are he left campus without making a flip in his commitment, and I've been told he will likely make official trips to Bama and Georgia before Feb 6th. Now, that will get taken as a negative by the majority of this board, but I can tell you the visit was anything but that. Shepherd spent a ton of time around Jimbo Fisher throughout the course of the weekend. He also ate very well - Friday night at Porter's and then a private dinner in the President's Suite at Kyle on Saturday. Today, Shep met with Jim Turner, Darrell Dickey, and Coach Fisher today prior to leaving campus. I know Chase Lane, Kenyon Green, and DeMarvin Leal all spent time with Shepherd during his stay. Based on what I know of the situation, A&M has positioned themselves nicely as things stand today. I think there is a different level of comfort with Javonne in College Station. I think Javonne is confident in the direction and vision he's been given by the A&M staff, and he sees the trajectory of the program under the new staff. I'm not going to go out on a limb here and say with confidence that he inks with the Aggies next month, but I would definitely categorize this one as a coin flip that will probably even get a little tougher to call if Shep does show up in Athens and Tuscaloosa. Still a lot of moving and shaking to go with this one. We'll know much more as we get closer to NSD. -I don't have a great amount of intel on the Chris Russell visit just yet, but I do know the depth chart was a pretty attractive piece of the pie. With no Devonta Lee on campus, Mike Elko and Bradley Dale Peveto were able to focus all their efforts on Russell. I'll post more later as I get it.-Speaking of LB, I've got new underclass names that will likely get visits from A&M staff members as the coaches return to the road. 2020 CyCreek LB Josh White - recently offered by LSU2020 Ft Bend Bush ATH Kenneth Phillips - took home LB MVP honors at the Next Level camp over the weekend. 2021 New Caney LB Derrick Harris Jr - Measured in at 6-2, 212 this weekend and can really move. -I continue to hear positive things on the Braedon Mowry front though it sounds like nothing is concrete still.
Weekend visitor list - Jan 11th-13th
Here's what we've got so far. We'll update throughout the week as we get more intel. As I've now, I believe all visitors will be officials. The only change would be if a guy like David Ugwoegbu shows up, he'd be on an unofficial.
