It works that way in basketball, but not in baseball. It's almost all about location and travel distance.

There weren't a lot of mid level quality teams in our region last year. There were only two teams from Texas that were on the two/three seed line (Rice and Texas) and they were put in UH and DBU's regionals.

I just don't think the ncaa cares nearly as much about regional considerations as many of you think. If you have to get on an airplane it doesn't really matter how far it is.

Definitely true. I don't even try to guess who'll be coming to Olsen if I know we're hosting because there never seems to be any consistency in how the NCAA assigns teams

They care about it A LOT up to 350 miles (the bus radius). At 351 miles they don't care at all.

They care about it A LOT up to 350 miles (the bus radius). At 351 miles they don't care at all.
