So was the game yesterday the 1st one Miss State had played against one of the SEC top teams in over a month? And they lost. If the Gators beat them today, when was their last win against a good team?

Probably too late for LSU to pass them for a NS but you never know.

I'm going from memory but I think the last time MSST faced a team that was breathing and cared was when we swept them. Their last 3 weekends were Arky, Mizzou and Aub and all 3 had quit by then.

They played LSU after they played A&M. Facts are MSU went 9-1 in conference series and won the league. They won series at Vanderbilt, Florida and LSU. Sure the schedule favored them, especially for their stretch run, but the committee is not going to pass up that resume just because they drop two games against two top 10 teams.

No doubt. I'm not suggesting they didn't earn the title. However they haven't really faced the same quality of pitching the last 3 weeks that everyone else has and I think it hurts them a bit right now because of that. It won't hurt their NS (that's locked in) but it does make playing games right now more difficult. They just looked rusty.

That's certainly the way it looks. LSU has played their way into a NS to go with us, MSST and Fla, Miami, Louisville and one of Clemson, UVA, or OM.

Looks like Florida gets to play LSU, yet again. Regardless of who gets there, pitching is going to be pretty thin by the time Sunday rolls around. I'd say it will be a high scoring championship game. Hoping we take care of business against Ole Miss, tomorrow.
