Pitino isn't going anywhere. Most powerful human at that school. 40 years in the business without major violations. Only Coach K up there in regards to clean record.

As long as there continues to be an on-going investigation with articles regularly coming out on the topic, this will be a cloud hanging over the Louisville program.

Articles based on lying? Anytime I look at a case and you see stories change and inconsistencies I tend to wonder. UL isn't a dangerous place for women. That article is laughable. Look I'm not a UL fan, I'm a hoops fan so this perked my interest. And I'm also not a big fan of BS, this has BS written all over it. UL fans aren't even that worried now, that says a lot. Last week they sure were worried, but now that this chick is caught in lies it's kind of interesting. The media in this country is disgraceful.

Specifically denied what was written about them:
1. Terrence Williams
2. Andre McGee, through his attorney
3. Antonio Blakeney
4. Antonio Blakeney's mother

"I never saw anything like what she claims":
5. Tim Henderson
6. Luke Hancock
7. Mike Marra
8. Stephen van Treese
9. Mick Cronin
10. Gorgui Dieng
11. Montrezl Harrell
12. Elisha Justice
13. Mangok Mathiang
14. Kyle Kuric
15. Russ Smith
16. Peyton Siva, Sr.

Saw something, denies scandal:
17. An unnamed former player "saw girls in swimsuits, no money, no sex, and Andre wasn't there."

Confirmed the "gist" of the story

NCAA will only reduce the number of strippers available for recruiting to 2 and limit physical contact to lap dances and HJ's.

Per the ESPN investigation, LSU freshmen Antonio Blakeney alleged to have had sex with a prostitute while on a recruiting visit at Louisville. Too many details out now for Louisville to escape this without major repercussions. If Rick didn't know about the strippers he certainly should have. Too many occurrences and players involved for him not to have been accountable in some way.

Seems like a low probability that Pitino was ignorant that something like this was going on with his recruits and players. It is difficult to accept his denials at face value.

http://www.si.com/college-basketball/2015/10/20/former-louisville-players-recruits-confirm-escort-allegations

quote:
Five former Louisville players and recruits confirmed allegations that a former member of the basketball staff paid for escorts to dance at parties they attended, ESPN reports, and one former player told ESPN he had sex with a dancer after the staff member paid her.

The former players and recruits who spoke with ESPN's Outside the Lines said they attended parties at which escorts were present during that time period, and that McGee gave them money to tip the dancers and to pay for them to have sex.

"[McGee] would give us the money, just the recruits," one former player told ESPN. "A bunch of us were sitting there while they danced. Then the players left, and the recruits chose which one [of the dancers] they wanted."

quote:
Head coach Rick Pitino has said that McGee, who now coaches at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and has been placed on paid leave, denied the allegations. Pitino has also denied any involvement in or knowledge of the situation.

Former recruit Terry Rozier, who Powell wrote is one of several recruits to have sex with an escort during a visit to Louisville, also said he believed Pitino was not aware of the parties.
"Coach P [Pitino], as far as the dorm situations and visits, he'd go out to eat with the recruits and their parents," Rozier said. "As far as after that, he wouldn't know. ... I can say his nose is clean."

Louisville AD has come out with a new statement. Sounds like Louisville for now is going to back Pitino's 'okay, I agree the evidence is building that something happened but I had no knowledge of it' defense.

Personally, I would very skeptical that ANY basketball coach in the country would not have been aware at some level that something like that was going on. Pitino's denials don't pass my own B.S. detector.

Where was the money coming from to pay for these on-campus stripper parties and 'side activities'? Out of their recruiting budget? From a rogue booster who went ahead and funded something which could get Louisville in major trouble without even doing a 'don't worry, you'll have plausible deniability' wink-wink with Pitino to make sure it was okay?

Exactly, basketball coaches are CEOs of tiny companies. How many people are on his staff, maybe 7 or 8? Plausible deniability should never be an excuse with such few individuals. If anything, this should bring into question recruiting practices in general. Pitino has no excuse not to know what is happening during recruiting trips when so few recruits are involved for CBB.

It's sad that, in this day and age, you can't pay a woman to pimp out her daughters for money and have a reasonable expectation that she'll keep quiet about it forever.

What has become of our world when you can't even trust a hoor to keep her hoor mouth shut after paying her to have sex with recruits?

quote:
Only one person can clear up what did or didn't go on at Louisville, Cardinals men's basketball coach Rick Pitino said Tuesday, and it's time for that individual to come forward.

Pitino, in an interview with ESPN and Yahoo! Sports, said former graduate assistant coach Andre McGee "needs to come out and tell the truth" after five former University of Louisville players and recruits told ESPN's Outside the Lines that they attended parties at a campus dorm from 2010 to 2014 that included strippers paid for by McGee.

"I don't know if any of this is true or not," Pitino told ESPN's Dana O'Neil by phone Tuesday. "There's only one person who knows the truth, and he needs to come out and tell the truth to his teammates, to the University of Louisville, to his fans and to his coaches that have taught him to do the right thing for years and allowed him to be part of something special here.

"He's the only one with any answers. Whether it's true or not, I don't know. ... Everything else is absurd. I don't care about the legal issues. If he's done something wrong, he has to own up to it and do his penance."

My sense listening to some of the talking heads on this today, apparently what Pitino knew or did not know is not going to get him off the hook from the NCAA. McGee worked for him and thus Pitino is going to be held accountable. They seem to think that, at minimum, the Louisville program will probably be forced to endure some punishment similar to Syracuse and SMU. Post-season ban(s), reduction in scholarships, and suspension of Pitino for some X number of games. That appears to be the possible 'best case' scenario for Pitino. Worst case would be that he ultimately doesn't survive this.

he obviously knew. at his resignation/firing he will stick to claiming he never knew while instead choosing to fall on his sword for the inexcusable lack of oversight that this could occur under him without his knowledge.

Another thing, Greenberg is a die hard Calipari fan.

Also the crap ESPN is running with is the rebranded junk from that book. ESPN isn't exactly 60min when it comes to carrying about the truth. Pictures of text messages, pictures of kids with girls. Yea hang Pitino up that's the smoking gun. No way this crap isn't real. Women looking for money that includes pimping own underage daughters out vs. coach with 30+ years of no NCAA violations.
