I knew where you were talking about halfway thru your first post. I know the course very well. I've been a member in the past. This was after I played it many times as a guest and wished it would wash down the river on many occasions. But it has grown on me.
It is what it is. Down in a hole with no room for expansion(unless the new developer frees up some land above the river). It is quirky. As in 5,600 yards from the tips quirky. But it is also inexpensive and the conditions are improving. And it is a great gambling course with risk/reward everywhere.
I've played a lot of the courses in this thread. Georgetown CC is a 85 year old bad layout that has a hard time holding up to modern equipment. But I wouldn't begin to put it in the same category as Brock Park and others mentioned here.
