Respectfully I disagree. It's been five days since really anyone figured this out.
The plan that was approved and announced and publicized was rescinded days before the first game and has received no such publicity.
It hasn't even been officially announced that they're not going to even going to be able to fire from the practice fields like last week because of ruts left from the artillery. So you're looking at a game this week without cannon fire, and the parties who started this mess haven't stepped forward.
This may not be a cloak and dagger conspiracy, but the total anonymity of the deciding party is extremely frustrating. Its a tradition that is enjoyed and loved by the overwhelming majority of Aggies. It is unacceptable that someone should be able to remove that tradition and not claim responsibility for it.
