Good looking boots but I do find it suspicious that there isn't a picture of the Lucchese stamp on the inside of the upper.

I am tempted but my wife saw me looking at the listing and saw the price. If I buy them then I am greenlighting her to go out and buy a $700 purse or a pair of Jimmy Choos. I don't want to open up that Pandora's Box. If she hasn't seen the price I would buy them and tell her I paid $200 or something.

My wife and I went to Safari Exotic Leather today and both picked up a pair at a very nice "Aggie discount" price. I'll be going back in a few weeks to get some custom-made exotics. This is the only place I will go from now on.

Depends -- he has a bunch in stock in different styles and colors which will probably be a little cheaper than him actually custom making a pair for you. It's hard to say exactly what price because he gives a discount and it varies boot to boot. I'd say a couple hundred...

Edit to say hardly any of the boots had prices on them and I didn't specifically ask about any ostrich skin boots.

I called today and he said custom ostrich would be $600. He said if cognac colored then he could have it done by Christmas.

I got black cherry ropers ordered from Safari August of '14. They had to be ordered too as he doesn't carry ropers in store. Quoted $550 but knocked off $50 for paying cash.

Great boots.

$600 is cheap

I have a buddy who's dad is a custom bootmaker and he charges way more than that.

Hell you'd be hard pressed to find off the shelve ostrich Luchese or Tony Llama for $600.

Safari Exotics is the legit. I have a nice pair of dark cherry caiman belly. Dude was super nice to us and was a pretty straight shooter. Since they were for a wedding he did my initials in them for free.

I realize the square toe boots are in style but I hate those

No, it's actually American Alligator. Those were made with hide from the underside of the jaw. I'm not sure if you're providing your own leather. If not, I think he keeps a couple in inventory. If you decide to use Jimmy, DM me so that you can let him know who referred you! Thanks!

Edit: I'm picking up two more pair from him that are scheduled to be done this month. The Wife's ought to be stunning! I'll post when they're received!

Went today and picked up an awesome pair of dark brown American alligators at a steep discount since it was his last pair and happened to be in my size. Matt was awesome to work with. Better pics later when I get home. Had quite a few Caiman that were tempting me, but I couldn't get past the look and feel of these.

Went in July and picked up some chocolate caimans, matching belt and had some custom black caiman made for the wife. Can't recommend this store more.
