Been playing the beta last night and this morning, it's ridiculously fun and addicting. I love a lot of the new features, specifically the ability to edit buildings, added extra or expanded functionality. Very slick looking game too.

I liked it too. Big change from #4 in a good way
Anyone run it on a MacBook Pro from 2011? I know the beta is PC only, and I don't have boot camp installed. Curious what the performance is going to be like for us on the mon gaming platform.
I ran the beta in Win 7 on my early 2011 MBP - 2.3GHz i7, 16GB RAM - smooth as buttuh. Graphics turned up to about 90% max.
I briefly posted a screen cap of my first city, before realizing the Beta testing agreement forbade it... I was proud of myself for an hour of work.

I wish I wasn't poor so I could get a gaming PC, this game looks absolutely fantastic
Graphics are absolutely amazing, slick, and clean. I ran into a few very minor issues, but enjoyed it otherwise! It took me a little bit to get down exactly how much space you need in a city block to not have any blank space.
I like the idea of a TexAgs region too!

Enjoying the modular buildings, pretty neat idea. Also nice not having to deal with pipes and power lines anymore.

Also, Origin for Mac just released. Sim City isn't available for preorder for Mac though.
Just talked to SimCity via twitter, said Mac version to be released in the spring. No word if purchasing on Origin will give you access to both PC and Mac versions. I would think it would work that way as other games can be downloaded cross platform like with Steam.

It seemed like from the beta the game flowed a bit better than I remember from the older games. I appeared to generate enough money to support my growth without having to wait around for long periods of time or take out bonds to have cash early in the game.

Going to preorder today. We should definitely get a texags region going!
From what I've read, one of the priorities in development was consistently giving the player something to do so their wouldnt be long periods of just waiting around.
I like that buildings have to be directly attached to roads. I always got mixed up when trying to implement rail/subway in SC2000 because it had a radius of effect and wouldn't always help traffic.
I believe this game will bring multiple play styles together. You have your infrastructure types, tweak/upgrade types, macro-level managers, and now teamwork capability. This should be good.

I will work on getting a region set up on launch day. However, I fear there may be only like 5-10 spots in one and then it will fill up fast.
How does this run on a modern PC? I have Simcity 4 on my rig and it still bogs once my city gets pretty big.
