Two summers ago, Kopetsky was a star player for Brazos Valley in the TCL. This summer, he started as their 3 hole hitter but went into a really long slump and was benched for awhile. Late in the season, he was coming out of the slump. His last JC year was not great. I don't see any Banks or Birks in this years crop of new position players.

Just looking at the lineups that have been posted, I really don't see many new position players listed. Did we not sign any guys from high school besides pitchers?

  • Hunter Melton might have himself a nice season for #AggieBaseball. Just went yard right above the 400 mark in CF.

In more optimistic news, a slimmed down Hunter Melton just crushed a double to LCF with the bases loaded to clear 'em. #AggieBaseball

2014 Fall World Series pitching rotation:
    10/27 - Long v Minter,
    10/28 - Kent v Hendrix,
    10/29 - Larkins v Stubblefield - 3:00 pm start.

    + + + +

Which of these six do you like for the Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday rotation?

    Friday: Stubblefield
    Saturday: Long
    Sunday: Minter
    Tuesday: Larkins

    Closer: Kent?

Who will close if Minter gets a weekend spot? I would rather have Kent and Minter out of the pen so we have a few guys we can count on late in games.

I agree with your starters Goose. I was hoping to see Minter as the closer though but if he is healthy will probably be able to go late into games. I sure hope Kent isn't the closer, nothing against Kent but I believe better in early relief. Need a hard throwing closer with good control.

I see the game on the 29th is scheduled for 3:00pm. It was previously communicated that they would play 5 games next week (Mon thru Friday). Is that still the case and does anyone know other than the 29th what time the games start?

COLLEGE STATION, Texas Texas A&M's fall practice session and the chase for the Omaha Cup will wrap up with next week's Maroon and White Championship Series beginning on Monday.

The best-of-five series will feature games on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with "if necessary" games lined up for Thursday and Friday. Start times for all games in the series are 3 pm.

As has become tradition under head coach Rob Childress, the Aggies will spend the fall competing internally for the Omaha Cup, a staple of the Texas A&M baseball culture. The event features the Aggies being split into different teams (Farmers and Plowboys) which compete against one another both on-and-off the field in order to sharpen the competitive nature and chemistry of the squad. Fall practices and scrimmages are once again be open to the public in the recently renovated Blue Bell Park.

The starting pitching matchups has been announced for the first three games of the Maroon and White Championship Series. Grayson Long (Farmers) and A.J. Minter (Plowboys) will be the starting pitchers on Monday. Matt Kent (Farmers) and Ryan Hendrix (Plowboys) square off on Tuesday and Turner Larkins (Farmers) and Tyler Stubblefield (Plowboys) will match up on Wednesday.

The Aggies are coming off a 36-26 season and extended their school-record streak to eight consecutive trips to the NCAA Championship in 2014.
