Find. A. Baby. Sitter.

I can not be any more clear than that. Then, you'll be free to have a good time.

Please don't come to the Tennessee game. Or at least if you do stay away from me.

And before you think I'm an insensitive SOB, I've got a 3 year old. It's going to be a while before he goes to his first game.

Think about it like this. What's going to happen when he starts screaming his head off? What are the people sitting close to you going to think about the fact that you're subjecting him to this torture when he gets inconsolable? And THEN, at this point, if you're a good parent, you're leaving the game halfway through the first quarter promising yourself and your kid that you'll never do that again.

Not sure if you are serious OP since this topic gets a bunch of play here, and even as a father of two teenagers and a fourth grader there is a pretty significant level of maintenance. But a family tradition is a family tradition. So, get your wife drunk before the game, dont drink yourself, line up a babysitter for after the game-or inlaws-and show up at your seats at the end of the first quarter and leave when the band exits the field. 10 years from now the kid was there, "saw" all the starters play, and saw the band. On sunday, get hammered and decline diaper changing duties. First option is still, stay home.

I think bringing young kids to a game is an excellent way to end up with an 8yo or 9yo who is completely uninterested in football. I took my nephew to his first game at SMU when he was 6. He played on the grassy hill, watched the band, etc. We went to Kyle Field later that season having watched some games on TV, it was the event of the year. Similarly, each year since then we catch a game or two. It's great.

I do not understand bringing a kid under the age of around 6...it's nuts.

Leave him in the car, with the windows cracked. And try to park in the shade.

But if you really insist on taking the kid into the stadium, just make sure that you do some PCP, Angel Dust, or bath salts beforehand.

We brought ours when they were that young. Went to a non conference cupcake that was not a Sept day game. Put over the ear ear pro on them and they slept the whole game. We are prepared to leave or walk around the concourse whenever they became fussy and make sure they are not a problem to those around us. This year will be the oldest's 5th game and we have yet to have an issue. He asks weekly when we'll be going back to "the stadium" and especially likes the band.

Like everything else regarding kids in public, make sure they are your problem and nobody else's

Nope. That's your anecdote and not what will most likely happen.

With a kid under one, it is very likely to not be an issue given access to bottle/boob and decent weather. Things become more touch and go at around 2 years. Still, all potential problems are mitigated by being a responsible parent and courteous to those around you.

My boys of 6 and 4 are going to their first game this season vs NMS.

There is an invention called television, helps you prioritize your life.

You can be a good dad AND see the game.

It is 1000000% irresponsible and BAD PARENTING to take a kid under 2, maybe even 3, to a game.

Your little blessing is 10000000000x more important than some damned game. Don't be one of those parents that won't interrupt your life or your schedule as make the baby suffer for it.

Take him when it is meaningful and they can remember it.

What a bunch of sad little whiners.

I've been taking my kids since they were tiny, and you know what... they have always loved it. And now, they both want to go to Texas A&M. Hmmm. How does that work. Get them involved in something early, and then they love it. Never had an issue, other than 1 really hot game where my wife took my daughter to a cool zone at half time. And if the kid gets loud, that is called crowd noise!

The number of small children I have ever seen causing problems at Kyle Field is exactly 0.

Now ask me about how many overly drunk morons I have ever seen causing problems...

Do what you want, to hell with everyone else and their opinions. It's not bad parenting to take a kid out, he/she will be just fine.

As long as you understand the inconveniences that will come with it, there's no harm. If you have some helpful tips/tricks to share after the game you definitely should.

Have fun!

Only reason I would bring him is so he would know he was there for his first season when he's older.
Dude just lie. You're going to lie about Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy, so why not?

Buy him a ticket and then get a babysitter. Then you can say "you had a ticket to an Aggie game your very first year."

I am just now getting around to taking my oldest two, who are 8 and 6, to a game this year. Why? Because I am selfish and have never wanted their fussing to get in the way of my (and the people around me) gameday experience. I think at age 8 and 6 is about the right age for them to a) either actually enjoy the experience, sights, or sounds or b) understand that the wrath of Obejuan will come down swift and fierce if they don't comply or much more likely c) either me or my wife can easily escort them out as needed.

I would have hated myself for taking them when they were younger. I went the safe route and took them to baseball games when they were younger due to more open flexibility to move around and less pressure to stay the whole game.

I fail to ever understand the logic of anyone who thinks taking a 1 year old to a game is a good idea.

In 4 hours I'd be willing to bet he gives at least one, maybe two...

Don't forget the wet wipes and please be courteous and go throw the dirty diapers far away from people!

No offense but since you've never taken your kids to a game you might not be fully up on what it's like taking a kid. A 6 year old that's never been? Wow.

I started taking my son at 3 and this is the 11th straight year he's been to every game.

I don't think a one-year old is the best idea but he's not my child so it's really none of my business.

Don't know if Kyle field does this, but at Olsen they announce fairly clearly that unintended children are prohibited. Depending on your individual situation, may want to double check if this could be an issue.

why not if there are earmuffs. I don't want my kid to grow up racist.

I beg to differ.

I'll bet he gives at LEAST two ****s. First one will be as soon as you get to the stadium and get settled.

The next one will be just before the best play of the game which you will be listening to in the restroom.

When you change his diaper, be sure to point out that the content's color is similar to a school in Austin.

We took both our boys as littles and it was fine. My only really solid recommendation is don't be obsessed with staying the whole game or have at least one person who will volunteer to take the little one to the MSC.

In our case it was usually my wife and/or MIL who would take our boy/boys over to the MSC to buy a toy or just sit in the flag room on the couches.

My boys are 8 and 11 now and have been going to games since birth, no worries and some really fantastic pictures and memories.
