This gives me the same sad "what could have been.." sadness I feel about Buddy Holly. So talented, such a waste...

Some of you people need to understand that indicted does not me found guilty.

No crap the GJ found enough to indict him. They already had enough to push for a GJ just because of his celebrity status. There is plenty of personal agendas with this matter which is a waste of taxpayers dollars. The GJ members and affiliates have plenty of personal motivation. This would not be reviewed if it were a common John Smith or a Juan Garcia but it's JFF and that is cool and exciting!

It's a misdemeanor offense which is max punishment of 365 days or less. He won't serve that much and I doubt he serves any. Most likely he will be served rehab as the magnanimous judge gets all dressed up and rehearses some bullcrap lines for the television.

JFF will also settle monetary out of court.
This really isn't anything. Just a bunch of people taking personal liberties at JFF's expense. Seriously, he is the real victim and Crazy Crowely is the instigator.

Even if it is as you say it is. JFF is still to blame for putting himself in the position where this all could happen in the first place.

The boy is a sick, self-destructive ****** with an entitlement mindset. I would guess it is much more likely that he will be dead before he is ever being rehabbed. Some people are beyond help and I fear he is one of them. Though I figured he would be one of many Heisman QB's who would do nothing in the NFL, it is sad to see his life being wasted.

Let's assume for a second he didn't hit his ex. If true, why is he wasting his life? Because he didn't live it according to your narrative?

If he hit her, he should serve whatever sentence the judge decides. But outside of that, he's dome nothing wrong and he hasn't "wasted" his life because he didn't live up to your fantasy.

Eh, when someone has a lot of talent and chooses not to use it, it seems fair to call that a waste. You're an accountant right? Imagine there were some guy who could add long sequences of numbers together in his head instantly, and could write perfectly straight columns of numbers even on unlined paper. If he chose not to account, wouldn't you think that was a waste?

What happens when an x girl friend pounds on your hotel door at 0200 hours in the morning? She was drunk as a skunk on two bottle of old crow. How did she know where Johnny was staying? Why did she go to his room? Did he ask her to leave and she refused to? Why does she have a restraining order when she went to his room?
Did Johnny have to force or bodily remove her to get her to leave?
Was johnny high on drugs?
Why did he bother to open the door?
Why didn't he call hotel security to get her to leave?
Why the back door of the hotel?
Why would you slug a drunk woman?
Why didn't Johnny report the incident to the police?
Where on earth would Johnny get a fair and impartial jury or Judge to hear this case?

Vendetta in the worst case?

Drug addicts and drunks don't have any idea of the environment or surroundings until the drug or booze wears off.
Did the cops take blood samples of both participants in the altercation?
Will the case make 48 hours in the end?

His style of QB-ing never works in the NFL; he was never going to succeed in that league. But the Canadian Football League missed out on an exciting player for sure.

Pretty much this. Unless some crazy-ass baylor ADA wants to relentlessly pursue this to trial, this will be plead down to something like disorderly conduct with a penalty of 30 days' probation and a $300 fine.

1) Manzeil will never be on an NFL roster during the regular season again.
2) Manziel is not a failure at life. He is living it the way he wants to and that puts him ahead of most everyone int he world.
3) Manziel is not going to OD on drugs
4) Manziel does not need to go to jail.
5) Manziel is not the devil.

I can say one thing about him. He does not elicit average feelings (except with me).

It has been reported that he has already settled a civil suite with her. She has been paid and will not testify against him and therefore he can't be found guilty. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the case gets dismissed for lack of evidence.

Again, people are missing the point here.

An indictment is a totally different thing from a guilty conviction. The standard is much lower to receive an indictment (probable cause and only 9/12 have to agree)

Additionally, the GJ is a one sided affair where only the prosecution can show their side and Johnny gets no defense.

We often cast stones at celebrities and give them the guilty until proven innocent treatment, but I know for a fact if anyone here was accused of a crime, they would not want to be treated as guilty before their legal process played out.
you're wasting your time....all the legal minds here already convicted him, indictment is just the final proof of guilt to them. i mean, we all know that indictment = guilt. a LOOOOOOOOONG time ago, summer 'tween my jr and sr year at A&M, i was at a pool party in Htown hosted by and at a BSC richie house. it got rowdy and someone took her stuffed 'n mounted sailfish off the wall and threw it in the pool. STUPIDLY, i rescued the prized fish, but all she saw was me with it...GUESS WHAT >>>> she filed a complaint, charges were filed against me, went to GJ and i was indicted; and i am a NOBODY!. anyway, skipping over the details after that, my lawyer did his thing and it all went away.

this board has too many haters who will be thrilled to see their prognostications of Johnny's demise, even death, come true (although they'll never admit it). they are seething with self righteousness. my god i didn't know that Johnny had so many close and inner-circle acquaintances from this board who know him so well as to be able to assure his guilt and even his death this year. wow :-(

i say puke on all you know-nothing haters. if you want to hate on Johnny, just go open a window and yell 'i hate johnny and i'm not going to take it anymore", then have a bleach cocktail. but do us all a favor and leave your Johnny hate and condemnation off of TexAg boards.

here's to Johnny ignoring the 'hate' crowd, and also to forever staying away from bat shi*t crazies.
