Thanks for deciding to create a new coming and going thread. I was holding off until the new year to update because I was going to start a new one for the new year. You can have the problem of updating for now.

Here is a link to the my old one: http://mybcs.com/Content/Forums/Replies.aspx?tid=2246282

Didn't the Popeyes just reopen at the gas station on the corner of 6 and Booneville? I think it's a Shell?

I'm not aware that the Boonville Popeye's closed. The Graham road location closed. The "may reopen" is simply based on conjecture IIRC, based on the fact that furnishings or equipment is still onsite. Hardly a reason to think they would reopen.

As seen in other local restaurants, closing for a period of time and reopening is a kiss of death.

W8, your google link has turned the page into micro script.

If feminization means people who can spell "commence" correctly after editing (and use URLs correctly), I welcome feminization.

I just tried the link on my smartphone and it worked.

And its the same smartphone keyboard that over-m'ed "commence".

The problem isn't that the link doesn't work: it's that it's WAAY longer than it needs to be.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQ6OrO1f610

And that's actually longer than what you get if you use the share on the YouTube app, at least in iOS.
w8liftr
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I don't use iOS since I have a SMARTphone not an iToy.

Hmm... your phone is smarter, but
- it gave you that link
- it didn't correct commence for you

just fix the ***** link and take the Apple hate to the Nerdery.

It was "temporarily closed", and the fact that the furnishings, equipment, and signage is still up suggest that it could reopen (especially with La Quinta coming). In most cases, fast food restaurants take down most of their signage and clear the place out. The "may reopen" is just as ambiguous as "temporarily closed".

I welcome Planet Fitness. Exercise is proven to be beneficial to the elderly mentally and physically, delay entry to nursing homes and the onset of many age related ailments, and this keep MANY costs down.
This will be a great "coming" business for BCS in more ways than one.
w8liftr
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Fly- I was ripping on how they market towards young singles and early middle age adults but they create a training environment hostile to any physical exertion by their desired demographic. Their business model capitalizes on people willing to continue to auto-debit $10/month and not show up to train because the training environment is so unfavorable for training.

The geriatric reference was not saying old folks shouldn't exercise. Exercise is vital for geriatric citizens especially if they've been on a low cholesterol diet for any significant time period.
FlyRod
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I hear ya. But even Golds where I lift has signs up about "excessive noise" and that place is hardly full of "old ladies." The WW2 vet who works out there (served in the Pacific) is totally cool though.

I think the fact that these comments have very little to do with what is coming and going and instead are cluttering up the thread with opinions is probably why the comment was deleted. Can we just post what is coming and going and leave the opinions to other threads, please?

Well, sounds like our local Fox & Hound will be staying open for the foreseeable future regardless of its parent company's financial troubles: http://www.theeagle.com/news/local/article_902fc1b2-f1c5-54fc-be3d-f5764472cb03.html

I heard that Prosperity Bank at Highway 40 and Arrington closed after they took over the First Victoria across the street. Is that true?

Also, the former McDonald's at the Exxon has been renovated (the roof) so it looks like a Mexican restaurant could replace it--of course, it seems like it's been that way for the last past year, so I don't know.

Looks like the Kitchen Collection in the Post Oak Mall is going. I only heard about it recently, but when I went the other day, they had everything on sale, including the shelves the merchandise was on.
