I believe it has Remote Play which means you can play it on the gamepad screen and free up the tv for other uses.

BOO. Sonic All Stars lets you do that. It's awesome because we don't have to deal with the split screen on the TV

This is one of the few ***k ups on this game IMO.

This is one of the few ***k ups on this game IMO.
Or allow the game pad to select the power ups people get, and throw a monkey wrench in the race.
Aside from the controller, battle mode seems to be the biggest gripe. Apparently the folks at nintendo got lazy and decided to use existing tracks as the battle grounds instead of make new ones.

Anyone getting Mario Kart 8 today?
Supposedly shipped last night from amazon, with today being the estimated delivery day. Don't know how that's going to happen, but I do have amazon student/prime with the free 2 day shipping so I'm supposed to get it release day. No big deal if it doesn't come in to next week but I am looking forward to playing, twit got really good reviews from everybody.

Downloaded last night before I went to bed and played the first round of Grand Prix this morning when I woke up. It's going to be a fun game!
Picking up at Gamestop during lunch hour.
Just picked up my bundle from Best Buy! Can't wait to get it set up this evening to play with the kids.
Game is great. New courses are awesome! Graphics are great! Coins are really really really important.
Did the first cup (mushroom I think) and I'm already hooked. Super fun and really enjoyable. The 4 courses in that were awesome so I can't wait to see what else they have in store.
This makes me want a wii u.
I suck using the control pad, but did much better with the original wii remote. Either way, it was a fun evening with the family.

Game is good, but lacks a lot of features, like battle mode arenas, statistics, and rewards for beating single player modes.

I do wish the game had a mini-map and time splits though.

My mistake.
Overall, it's a VERY good addition to the series, and I would say is worth getting a Wii U for as if super mario 3d world, wwhd, and tropical freeze weren't already.
So get Super Mario 3D World over the other Super Mario game?
They're both great, but 3D Word is another class.
Good to know. Since I picked up the Wii U for Kart, this summer I need to pick up a Mario world game too.
when two players play, does one play on the game pad using the game pad screen, or does it split screen on the tv?
