Should we read the book now - does it follow it closely?
I wouldn't bother with the book. They've taken quite a few liberties. All the same themes are in place, same general story, and many of the main characters, but overall they've made it way more accessible and will ultimately be telling basically their own story.

Yeah, Spacey and McConaughey definitely led the charge that not only was tv not below an A-list movie star, it could actually help them in just about every way.
