since the salt dudes decided they needed their own thread here's one for those us us a little farther from the coast

Two weeks ago on the upper end of the Cossatot. Crawfish patterns on a sink tip were the ticket.

I nabbed this Mayan cichlid on a fly in south Florida. There are lots of weird fish here that readily take hare's ears, poppers, and wooly buggers.

This summer I went on a mission to catch a lot of different species on a fly. I caught plenty of peacock bass on spinning gear, but never officially landed one on a fly. I need to fix that asap.

I also want to catch a clown knife fish and a jaguar guapote. It's bizarro world in those east coast canals.

Yesterday on the Red behind Denison Dam. This one was a pretty big deal for me. A trophy, for me, on a fly I tied myself. I showed up, red the water, a dusted my approach, l and the payoff was so sweet!

I fish a undisclosed location on Onion. Have caught up to 5lbs bass in there. Been slow this year but fun stuff!

I went down to the Everglades today and hit up a few canals. I can't seem to get the bigger bass to bite a fly. They follow and investigate, but lose interest. No problem with oscars and Mayan cichlids though.
